Well, lets just say it shouldn't just drop when you turn the key off.
When my pump went on my IROC, it would only prime to 3 psi (no typo, a far cry from the 46 it was supposed to prime to), and when you turned the key off, it dropped instantly.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

I had my dad talk to his friend whos a tech for gm he claims that running premium gas in it could cause this when its cold.
I dont see how, but I am also not a GM tech.sigpic

premium is a higher octane therefore require higher amount of heat to ignite it, therefore longer start to get enough heat for it to go.
i however run 87 and still have the same issue, now thinking its fuel pump related, will cycle my fuel pump 2-3 times before firing the car and it doesnt seem to have any problems.

I HIGHLY doubt that would be the issue. I have run premium in my vehicles for the past 2 years and never had an issue.

yea its feul pump 99% sure happened on my v8 changed so much shit hopping it wasnt the the feulpump.... but it was so if you decide to change feul pump dont drop the rearend then gas tank that took me 5-6 hours (rusted bolts) id reccommend the cutting the metal in your rear hatch right over the pump theres a lot of forums that say they prefered that way as apposed to the dropping everything method.

When I did the pump last year took me 3 hours, I broke a bunch of bolts and replaced them, I will not fix it untill it completely goes, it runs fine for now, not bad enough to drop the 200 for a pumpsigpic
