Still not up and running yet. Kyle will be back out in the morn. So my car won't be at Dog's tonight.
Kyle can't get that rod out of the opti. Apparently it got so hot it kinda like welded itself. Kyle can explain better than I can.

No, not an Auto Zone Opti, are you crazy

Now I'm baffled at what happened to this Opti, I have never seen it before.

The Opti got so hot that it melted part of the rotor.
In fact it got so hot that the splined shaft that runs the 93 opti's was blue/purple in color that I couldn't even get it out and that brings me to my bad news

I can get a shaft but not till later tonight MAYBE
The guy that runs Michigan Speed lives over by me and might have one but he won't be home till later so I have to wait.
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, TOMORROW I will go and finish Red's car so she can have it for the Holiday

Something was really wrong with that opti because the inside was all funky and weird colors.

Everything else was o.k. on the car and checked out fine.

I guess, Kyle why did the opti or the drive shaft get so hot? Almost sounds like it caught fire inside the opti?

What engine temps does Red's car get to? I've never heard of the opti getting THAT hot...

ive never heard of that happening either and i am even more surprised it still ran like that. what is the rev limiter set at? Im sure Red's cam likes the RPM's more than that opti does. even my little 226/234 wants more than my stock rev limiter.

I feel special. I get all the strange and unusual car problems. I guess there is a first time for everything. And Brian, when I'm driving my car, it gets up around 160 and a tad more if it is very hot outside. Don't know if that is exactly what you were asking or not.

I'm not sure why that opti did that

All I know is that it took a lot for me to turn it by hand.
But I have heard of opti's getting like that and it's just because of the friction that it's making inside that creates so much heat.

I will say that I have never seen one do this my self

I have several people looking for one of those shafts for me right now so

You need the like inch long shaft that goes behind the opti? I have one around the garage/barn somewhere.

                                Ya, that's what I need
The shaft that drives the Opti on the 93's.

I have a spare but I can't find it for some reason
                                Maybe I used it

Let me know if you have one
