Got to Red's yesterday a bit later than I wanted but it was all good.
I started out by scanning the car for code's but there were none so I moved on to checking the valve train because I was told it sounded like marbles rolling around.
Not something you want to hear when describing an engine sound
Well everything checked out
All the push rods were in place and rocker arms were tight and in place with no missing parts.
I rotated the motor over by hand to make sure everything was operating properly...................no problems.
So I put everything back together and started checking for plug wires and low and be hold I found one.
Cylinder # 3 had touched the header and was scorched.
I had extra wires at home so that was no big deal, easy fix.
Fix the wire and started the car with crossed fingers
Still had the back fire
SO I opened the cutouts and started it again so I could hear what side was the worst, it was the drivers side.
Started pulling plugs:
1 & 3 looked o.k.
5 & 7 were toast, carboned right up, black as night.
I can only think that it came from revving the car at Berger and shutting it off right after and not letting it run to help burn off fuel that was supplied to the motor while revving it.
With the car being cold it would have been in the fuel enrichment and by revving it supplied more than what was needed and then to top it off shutting the car off right away just let the extra fuel sit in the cylinders till Red fired it up again just to do it all over again.
I'll be back out today to put new plugs in it and it should be good to go.

for DR LT1!! No faith lost here I knew you would figure it out, good to hear the decent news and I pray this is the problem! It was not fun with the tow truck and pushing it into reds garage but the rest of the day was great!
