You will have to get the car a lot higher then just rhino ramps!

x2 on everything said. The car has got to be quite high, the higher the better.

I would like to add, I would recommend getting race style headers, not ones with emissions provisions.

The motor mounts are a shell, with rubber in them and a metal hollow tube inside that the bolt that holds them to the mount towers goes through. You must remove the big bolt that runs thought the mount, that disconects the mount from the tower, then there are 4 bolts that hold the mount to the motor, take those out and youll have a mount in your hand.

Then there are 5 rivets that hold the "halves" of the "shell" together, get a drill press and sharp bit and go to town. When you replace the rubber center with the poly one then you need to get 4 bolts per side, with lock washers and nuts to hold the mount together. Then reinstall. Fun, no. But definitely worth it.

I have access to a lift, kind of. My neighbor owns a junkyard and they've got a full shop but they might not have room for me down there.

I'm going to get the ramps just so I can get to the jack point with my jack because right now it won't fit under the car. Are they worth it or should I just take the air dam off and lift the car then put the frame on jackstands for when I do the mounts?

Also, I suppose it's safe to support the motor while doing the mounts by the oil pan? There's really no other solid surface on the underside of it. The weight of the MOTOR, not the car.

I jack my car up by the k member. But I have a 48in long low profile jack. Not sure how others do, just please use jack stands.

You could probably support the ls1 by the pan, HOWEVER, it could make it difficult to work under there with the jack in your way. I would get a couple good bolts and put them in the heads and hold it up with a cheery picker.

Got a vid of the before-headers exhaust. Schuby87 pretty much had the same setup as far as I know-the hooker catback and people were asking for some higher-rpm revs. I hit around 5700 maybe 58. Smoked because the block was a little cold but it had been running for a few minutes so it was well lubricated.

Oh yeah, and there's also a stock mustang GT I have to kill because the guy thinks he's everything. Short story is that he got an 09 GT for christmas and now I'm kinda hanging out with his ex-girlfriend. That'll make quite a story.

He hit a raccoon at like 2 in the morning and destroyed his bumper/radiator.

My before set up was a little different - stock manifolds, !cats, flowmaster catback.

Nope, still with the flowmaster. I almost picked up a dual/dual for dirt cheap but that fell through. I like the flowmaster for its quiet, melow tone without rasp, but its doesn't flow for shit. I guess that is what the cutout is for!

OK so some of my parts came in from Summit today and congrats to them, or UPS, shipping took less than 24 hours from when I placed my order. I ended up getting polished stainless header bolts and a pacesetter Y in aluminized steel. Now I'm waiting for my O2 ext's to arrive via USPS and the headers are on their way from California as of a few days ago. I plan on spraybombing the Y with some Duplicolor 500' hi-heat so it doesn't rust. Also got a laptop today for college, an HP dv6 with 4 gigs of RAM and a 320 gig hard drive, dual core.

It's been an expensive month so far.

You will love the LT's, ORY, and Hooker set up. I ran that exact same set up and it sounded mean.

Here are a few clips for you to look at.

Don't mind that rattle. That was like the 1st day I had that set up and some of the pipes still needed to be adjusted.

                            That sounds badass.

Hopefully my Pacesetter ORY will fit my yellow-star headers. If not I can get pretty persuasive with a ratcheting tie-down and a torch but I prefer not to.

I was making fun of the fact that they're probably china-made knockoffs. Hope the welds don't break on me or something.
