depending on which adjusting plate you have in it.

i would just put a different plate in and be done with it. whether or not you have a cat is nothing to do with the borla.

Also, fyi - exhaust must exit at the rear of the vehicle to be legal. i doubt youll be hassled for it though.

I also would not expect duals to be quieter than an open borla - even if the system does end up being quieter, now its got the road and bottom of the car to reflect off of and amplify it.

And even with the cutouts wide open it's still not that bad - I drive around town with the cutouts wide open and the only time it's bad is when you're accelerating from a stop. Once you hit 4th gear it's fine.

OR he could get the DMH plate for the borla...

but that would make too much sense

Omg, Joel just had a stroke of genius. Throw the e-cutout inplace of the usual adjustment plates (IE different size holes). Epic win. But true-duals are going to be wayyyyyy louder than a borla. Even if you throw some flowmasters 40s under there it is going to be crazy loud. It probably wouldn't be that bad if you had a stick, its very easy to keep the car quite with one. An auto on the other hand, not so much.

Will the plate really change the rasp of the muffler, though?

Or you can spend a little more and have a lifetime warranty and not have a broken cutout like the DMH ones RaceReady is the way to go if you're willing to spend a little extra for peace of mind.

Edit: NM, I was thinking it was DMH but I realized after it's QTP that break all the time. I love my RaceReady and will always recommend them, though, simply because of the lifetime warranty.

i used the hell out of my DMH for 5 years with no problems, then sold it for 2/3 what i bought it for. Dave hacker stands behind his product.

edit: yes, QTPs burn out all the time.

Summit 2.5" universal x-pipe system is a bolt in. No cutting/adding of pipes is needed. Did it to mine. Pics in sig if u want to look. I did 12" dynomax bullets. Sounds great to me. If I went with say 18" bullets it would still sound good though i bet.
