I had one on my shit...Blew the whole thing right off...if you're not using it, cut it off now and weld the hole. Cost me $300 just to get the header taken off and weld the hole shut.SB tuning for all your porting and tuning needs.

The only way you are going to blow off a block off plate is if you backfired through your intake HARD.
Blowing a 1/4 inch alum. plate with 2 screws in it covering a 5/8 hole is near impossable unless you are a Top Fuel car with a bad case of heart burn.

They are on the back of the intake, + he is running a stock motor so he shouldn't have a problem.

Exactly, which is why I said just get long tubes and then you don't have to worry about them. He wasn't talking about the intake blowing off..Originally posted by sman View PostGuys I think hes talking about the block offs for the headers, those are known to blow off, not the actual plate but the whole thing where it attaches to the primary.- Brian Meissen

I believe that Anthony is referring to headers that have emissions provisions. They make long tubes that have a big tube sticking out the top where you hook EGR/AIR to. Then they make the regular long tubes that don't. That is why the regular ones say, "for offroad use only".
