  • I don't think so either.

    It CAN'T be.

All I can think of is coil, or even ECM.

I was thinking the same thing. He's replaced the wires 3 times, opti once, and plugs a few times with different gaps and different heat ranges.

He said the car runs amazing like 2,500rpm and up. It's idle-2,500rpm it acts up. Says it does the exact same thing it did in the videos of his car from a few months ago.

          • hes def fed up with his car i talk to him a couple hours ago, as of right now im kinda not sure what it could be either

he moves the wires it idles like shit and moves them again it changes

he is running tr55's in it im not sure on his exact compression ratio but im at 11.5:1 and running a tr6 (cooler plug) at .040 gap and it seems pretty good

but i think he should be fine still with 55's

but iim gonna see if i can get out there

i think he should get a data log and check like knock count and ect

            • Yeah, there's not a whole lot to the ignition system, and most of it he's replaced.

He said it started when he put his Taylors on (I've never had problems with mine , there's potential human error regarding the connections that he had to crimp on), but he's tried new wires and still gets it.

He said the plugs "glow" at night..

              I'm pretty sure mine don't.

I'm thinking he has a major issue, unless I've just never seen plug wires glow...

              • Plug wires leaking? That's the only thing I can think of to explain the glow.

Has he got a new coil?

                • No, and I told him that he should try a new one.

These are brand new wires, how could they be leaking?

All I can think of is something wrong with the coil, and thus causing issues.

                  • Exactly. If the wires are glowing, they're obviously arcing. I'm not sure how you'd test a coil though.

                        • sounds to me like his wires are having to much juice being pulled through them. That is the only reason that they would "glow" at night. Is it posible to change the charge that goes to the spark plugs?
