Can you explain a little better what those are and what their purpose is?? I'm used to manuals, I've never looked into automatics. Are they self installable??

A torque converter basically replaces the clutch in manual trans and it also connects the crankshaft and imput shaft which makes the car move. All autos have a stock torque converter. If you get an aftermarket converter it allows the engine to rev more freely up to the point where the powerband begins and therefore enable the vehicle to accelerate under more power.

Okay, now that makes sense. So basically it'd be the same as replacing a clutch?? Any recommendations. The only one I can really find is an SLP one that says it's only good for 3.23 gears and we have 3.73s.

I've got a good list. Her birthday is this coming saturday so she will have a damn good birthday to say the least

Converter, LT's and an LS6 intake. And some DR's. That should be good for mid 12's

A converter is the single best mod you can do to an A4 car IMO

are you looking for a tuner that you can push a few buttons and be done or for one that is more in depth and allows you to change a lot of parameters?

But yea, get a 3000 or a 3500 stall on there with intake and headers/exhaust. That will wake the car up and make it fun to drive red light to red light. Stalls will knock off .4-.6 seconds off the 1/4 as well.

Tuning wise, I've got enough to worry about with my own car. I want something that can at least adapt to the mods I have, but not something I have to go through forever and learn to tune the car. I want more of a boxed tune most likely. Should I just get a boxed tune?? Madz28, pcmforless??

A 2800 is kinda small for an LS1 car. I would be looking at at least 3000+. To put it in contrast I think I'm going with the Pro Thruster 4400

Converter = 700, Headers and y-pipe can be had for 500, LS6 intakes are 350 used all the time. 700 + 500 + 350 = 1550. You can install all of those your self and if not you have money left over. I say that set up is good for at least 12.9 with a 2.0 60'. Add a set of stickeys and you would have a solid mid 12 second car.

All right, I made my decision and I just ordered everything. We'll see how it goes.

                                3000 rpm stall converter - $525
                                LS6 intake - $500
                                LT Headers/Ypipe - $500
                                MadZ28 tune - $225

And hopefully this makes her birthday pretty good next weekend
