  • $2000 to mod - what should I do??

    All right, Nicole keeps going back and forth on selling her car. But after talking with her this weekend I'm kind of thinking I can play a little bit with it and get it up to where she wants it. It's a 2000 Trans Am, 54k on the motor, and nearly stock. It has a catback right now, K&N CAI, and a locker with 3.73's in it. It hooks right up so I know traction isn't an issue right now. She wants more hp and wants to try to get into the low 13's with it. She's more all about the street though. She wants to be the next one to the red light. So in your expert opinion what should we do with $2000. More looking at bolt on parts. Are there people around that are willing to help bolt on parts too that have good experience?? That's half the battle right there since it seems you might as well double the price if you aren't doing it yourself. Anyways, thanks for any and all opinions.

    I would do some long tubes and a nice stall. If you have some extra money maybe upgrade some suspension parts...umm subframe connectors, panhard bar, lcas?

      Agree, definetly some longtubes. Nothing beats a mean sounding T/A...lol, you may lose to a faster car though! As for the suspension upgrades, that's not really needed to get low 13's...actually the car should be running that anyways stock. I'd go to to the SLP website and look up some parts you might be interested in getting, every little bit helps.

          I would do some long tubes and a nice stall.
          DUMB question but asking is the only way I'll find out. What is a stall and what does it do?

            Well last year i ran 12.8 @ 110mph with 2.02 60'... All i had was SLP ls6 intake, KnN, Pacesetter Headers, ORY, LM1 exhuast, 2800 stall a tune and then having subframes, LCA, LCA brackets , and panhard bar and 3.73gears. I only made 316 rwhp on a mustang dyno. Oh yeah this was my first time ever at a track

            So i would switch intakes put sum headers on it and then do sum suspension parts and you should be in the 12's easy

                          All right -

                          Right now she has a subframe connector and a strut bar. What else should I look at suspension wise??

                          So far on the checkout list I have:

                          Pacesetter Long-tubes
                          Pacesetter 3" Y-Pipe
                          Front 12" 02 Extender
                          SLP LS6 Intake


                          Now I'm looking for a person to tune the ECM...

                          I think her overall goal is to faster than me again.
