          Well, Right now I live in Decatur, but I used to live right down the road from you on Defield. I'm still in town pretty often.

          EDIT: VIN: 124377N111432

          Trim Tag: 09D
          67-12437 NOR 11556
          760-2 K-K
          2L

          ...Something like that

            From that info, we can determine:

            12437 = V8 Coupe N = Norwood, Ohio Assembly Plant 111432 = Sequence Number

            09D = 4th Week of September (probably September of 1966 since the sequence number is pretty low)

            67-12437-NOR 11556 = Model Year, V8 Coupe Standard Interior, Norwood, body unit number

            760 = Black Standard Bucket seats

            -2 = not sure? Could this be "Z" instead of "2"? If so, that would be Custom Bucket Seat Appointments

            K-K = Emerald Turquoise paint color, upper and lower. No vinyl top.

            2L = Group 2, L = 4 speed transmission

            (There are several other trim plate groups that are not listed here on this trim tag, so these basically say what isn't here)

            It's a V8 with a 4 speed. Probably a 327 since the SS350 group number (Group 4) is not here. (The 350 V8 was a '67 Camaro exclusive and only available with the SS package.)

            So, that means it's NOT an SS. Also no indication that it's an RS, either, since there is no code listed in the Group 3 location.

            So, it looks like this is a 1967 Camaro in Emerald Turquoise with a standard black bucket seat interior (with Custom Appointments), 327 V8 with a 4 speed.

            Pretty Cool!

            BTW: Total production of V8 Coupes for 1967 was 142,242 cars. When you add in the six cylinders and the convertibles, total Camaro Production for 1967 is 220,906 cars.

              Oh, yeah that was a Z. Trim Tag def. needs to be cleaned. Thats all I could really see on it, but there could be some more hidden on there but I'd have to check this weekend.

              So basically what you're saying is I have a pretty standard Camaro, nothing special? Which translates into I can do some custom stuff to with without hacking up a nice RS or SS?

                Absolutely!

                You would not be "messing up" a '67 Z28 or a RS/SS 396 or anything rare.

                It's your car anyway, so have fun, do whatever you want.

                    honestly id restore that one to mostly original, but of course have a decently stout 327 and maybe some SS components here and there.... but the turqoise 327 4 speed is a pretty cool combo imo, very representative of the era it came from.

                      So here's a question. The car is missing the trunk popping thing (not to sure how the whole thing works as i've never dealt with 1st gens.) How do I open the truck? When i first got it, it was opened and there was all sorts of stuff in there, but now that it's at my house it's closed? help me bust into my own car!

                        if you look in there you should see a slot - stick a flat blade screw driver in it and turn clockwise - it should open
