09 Camaro, you gettin one?

I hope to eventually buy a 5th gen. My dad was actually saying the other day that when the new Camaro comes out he wouldn't mind buying the v6 version. When I told him the rumor of a 300hp v6 engine, his eyes shot out of his head and he said "Damn I'd gladly buy that v6 Camaro."

agreed. ive loved the concept since they came out with it. they did a much better job with that then i think they did with the charger. seriously, who makes a 4 door charger, blasphemy. either way, not a huge fan of the new camaro. besides, i love mne too much, not sure if my heart has room for another

I'd have to agree, I really like the new (2004-present) Mustangs.

On a side note, I raced an older Saleen Mustang (maybe 2000-2002) and won from a roll and from a dead stop. I thought for some reason they were supercharged. Maybe it was a normal GT with a body kit?

I think there are several different Saleens. Like a Stage I, II, and III. I is a body kid and suspension, II is body kit, suspension and supercharger, and III is pretty much a race car. Don't quote me because that could be Roush though....

Wow.....I was expecting everyone to say if they had the money they would definitely get one......that would be my opinion anyway....sure if i had the funds to purchase one of those I definitely would........I thought they were coming out at the end of 08 and they would be 09 camaros??? when did it change to 2010??

You are correct they are coming out fall 2008 for the 2009 year model.

What they are saying is that they would rather wait a year or so to let Chevy work the bugs out. Since Paper and Test Tracks are one thing but the real world can through the new Camaro a curve ball.

You are mistaken, The first vehicle prototypes will be built in May/June 2008. Vehicle Launch/SOP is set for January 10, 2009. So yes, they will start being built very early in 2009, but they will be 2010 Model Year vehicles.

Yeah, Roush does the stage I, II, III cars.

Saleens could be supercharged or n/a depending on year.
