I'm still undecided on an '09. I want one yes, but realistically, since my wife and I have resolved to never go into debt for anything again, I'd have to pay cash for the '09, and even then, I'd have to resolve the fact that it only seats four, and my family is five people. The last nail is that I already have a fast, fun four-seater in the garage, and I don't think my wife would understand. About the only possible way to get it is to convince her to replace her (my) Grand Cherokee with a convertible, then force the kids to ride in the minivan whenever we sent somewhere together. The Camaro would then be her primary driver( and not mine ). A better solution might be a Pontiac G8 when it comes out.
1984 Pontiac Trans Am. Well, most of it anyway. Some of it is 1969 Chevy. Some of it is 1982 4-cylinder Firebird, 1987 Trans Am, and 1991 Formula 1LE. Some of it is 1994 Trans Am, and some of it is 1999 SLP Firehawk. The rest is aftermarket.

I'm getting one for sure. LS7 with a 6-speed, hopefully daytona blue on black. Pedders is already making suspension parts for the new zeta platform so they'll have stuff already developed by the time the Camaro is out. The Pedders stuff should fix what I'm sure will be a too high stock ride height from the factory.

Doubt if hardly any of us will have one in '09. Just talked to a guy that said he put his name on the list at Classic Chevrolet (in GR). Said he was number 117 on their list but have found out THEY ARE ONLY GETTING 8 THE FIRST YEAR. They are no longer taking deposits on them LOL.

that is NOT GOOD NEWS AT ALL. if a dealer only gets 8 of them you can be damn sure they are going to price gouge the hell out of them, and its going to be another bad production start for GM

Who knows. I WANT one. But I may not be able to GET one. I'd be willing to pay the rediculous high price but... I'm probably better off NOT getting one. Time for me to find myself that Black LS1 Firehawk I dreamed about.

8 for the whole year?!?! I find that hard to believe considering the target numbers for production they want to meet. Bob Boniface and Scott said they'd be cranking out more V8's the first year due to high demand for it. Maybe Classic just sucks and the majority of the cars will be going to Berger instead. I have no idea how they're going to do dealer allocations for the car.

There is something like 6000 chevy dealers. Even at 8 per ...... that's almost 50,000 camaros in the first year so I don't find that hard to believe at all!

I highly doubt they would disappoint the Camaro buyers by only producing 8 for the first year. 150,000 seems about right to me. For all the hype and how many car shows they are putting it in, it would be a HUGE disappointment.

Sound like Classic Chevy is full of crap. There is no way chevy have gave out allocations on a car that is at least a year away from being produced.
