      I'll pretend I didn't see that.

Anyway, I wish the Camaro would be out in 2007, but it's a long shot. I don't think the Firebird/TA will be back anytime soon.

I'm hoping they redesign the front clip and side view mirrors.

i read in automotive news a couple weeks back that GM was almost sure the camaro will come out late 2007 and that there is a chance that it might be going into the production stage here real soon

I think the only way to prevent any future disappointment is to pretend it's all just a cruel joke, or a dream or something. . . I'm really impatient, so I can't handle waiting until 2007. . . . lol

I don't care, they can make refinements here and there but the bottom line is we want it anyway, no need it anyway!

WHY!!!!?!?!?!? You can get a first gen repro right now, put in a modern drivetrain, and be done in time for summer. And the cool part is it'll look decent!!!! Not that square blocky hunk that GM is going to make.

I'm curious, Jasen, did you see the Camaro in person yet?

No, and here's why, when I see pics like this:

I think or say "damn, that's badass" and I want to get a closer look. I just don't get that from the pics of the concept. So when people tell me I need to go see it in person to really like it, I have to ask "Why? The pics don't make me want to see it"

I guess my point is Brian, I don't like it enough from the pics to wanna go see it, I almost did go, but I decided it wasn't worth 6 hours of driving to detroit that week back in January for me because I just wasn't impressed enough by the pics. I know I won't make a difference and regardles of what I say GM will make it however they want. I just wish it wasn't so retro, so first gen, I'm just tired of seeing that look. I honestly think that 75% of the people that are for it are just doing it because they want the Camaro back, not because they like it.

S'all good. I'm sure if they had some decent photoshoots with the concept it'd slightly change your mind. It looks much different in the pictures than it does in person. I've heard a lot of people say they didn't like it until they saw it in person.

I believe it is modeled the way it was because of the baby boomers. Has anybody noticed the LARGE price increase for the 69 era muscle cars? I think GM is looking to make some major bucks on this project because they are in the toilets and it will help with bringing the american public back to buying american cars! I don't believe it was made for us(like that or not) but I too agree with jasen that it should have been an entirely new look. I still like them but thats my opinion.

Right, I'm not saying I wouldn't drive it, I just was really dissapointed at what they gave us, to me it wasn't an evolution in styling at all.

yeh, but you do have to see it like GM does... with all the retro mustangs selling right now, they would be foolish to not try to take a slice at the pie in the RWD retro market.

Yeah, but the original Mustang actually did look good. Hate to break the news, but not the camaro - it's only good for nostalgic value. The original mustang was the best looking mustang, until the new retro one. For f-bods, the late first gen and 2nd gen birds were the most stylish and memorable, and that's what GM should be retro'ing back to.
