I dont think a little domestication would hurt image at all. People wouldnt buy German cars like BMWs if they were 50% outsourced, so why should people (especially a european) want an American car thats canadian? Its no wonder so many [american] people have no pride and even look down our own cars if we dont even build them here.

With our economy the way it is, Im losing tolerance for that crap. Global market doesnt need to mean global company. I think they are flirting the line. I applaud them for the building the enclave/acadia here but that isnt enough.

Knowing Clarkson though, he will test a Ferrari 599 at the same time though. They will do something crazy. I dont know if any of you seen the episode where they took the Ford GT, F430 and Zonda to France, but I hope they come to America and drive from Detroit to LA. It would be one of the best ever.

Well, yeah, that's true - but that plant in Canada that they plan to build it at, had the highest quality of cars made in the INDUSTRY - I'd give up a Made In USA sticker, if we can have great quality, instead of just okay quality.

...Plus, I already have a Made in USA Camaro

highest quality in comparison to what? We did well for ourselves in the 50s and 60s. Both of my vehicles were made in canada and i am very happy with them, but id rather be paying american workers. (I didnt buy new, but my parents do) The enclave has been selling like hotcakes, people are thrilled with the quality of them - we can build good cars. The economy is just like dealing with women - if you truly believe youre the best: then you are.

Yeah, I know we build good vehicles, now - I'm just stating that the Canadian plant the 'maro will be built at had awards for having the highest quality cars rolling out a few years ago/in a row.

...personally I'd rather have it here too, but whatever. Canada, US...close enough.

                        • You know with all yoiur guys' knowledge you should write it all down in perfect presentaion form and pitch it to GM not only to get the packages to go with the correct badges but to have it built here.

I know, I'm only dreaming and even if you guys did pull it off they prolly wouldn't buy it. It doesn't matter to me anyways because I wont be able to afford one to worry about who's getting my money I don't have.
Yeah, but mine's still louder than yours!

                            • GM knows what we(enthusiasts) want, but they have to give us what we want, as well as the regular joe blow. I think the V6 Mustang selling so well, is what kept that car alive. Im pretty sure there is someone at GM whos job is to surf the net and read all the stuff we type, after all we are the consumer and we are the ones that will buy the expensive versions of the car.
