?550 hp z28 next gen

Last fall he let me drive a V8 4x4 high stance Colorado with a 4.10 or 4.11 rear end . Will be a 2009 model. That was a fast truck.

Was anything changed besides the motor and rear? Those trucks need a new interior baaddddddd. Hopefully they can price the V8 well seeing how they are giving away fullsize trucks right now.

It was a test truck . Same interior But it was 2" taller then the stock Z71
Big 17"rims with wide tires this was to be the new off road package.
It used the 5.3 Chevy full size motor.

if the SS is pushing 430 (LS3), 550 really isnt all that much ahead... as its just enough to show a GT500 the tailights.

maybe depending on the weight of the new camaro and traction issues. i mean chevy has never had the rear-end that ford has. i would be surprised to see it but with GT500 and its infinite different incarnations now i think stock to stock it may very well come down to a drivers race on this one.

on the another topic with that, i think for once i may finally want to see a camaro beat out the mustang. i'm just so tired of the different models and packages of the mustang that i really cant handle ford performance at the moment, at least in the "Car" area. Trucks on the other hand are a completely different story.

Wow. I'm severely shocked that Jeff didn't jump in and debunk some myths in this thread. Jeff works for a company that has been working with parts on the Camaro and he point blank said there's only ONE steering wheel or head rest (I can't remember which it was) that was embroidered, the rest just said "Camaro" and the other one said SS.

If you look at the past of the camaro you will notice that it has always been built to compete(barely beat) against mustangs as far as stock from the factory and the motors have always been some form of detuned or limited versions of the bigger badder motor in the vette which is always released into the market before the camaro.

Now, we''ve been paying close attention to the camaro since its concept to inception over the years, and all of a sudden a new ZR1 vette....hmmm. I wonder what motor is going into the more expensive camaro.

As far as which is going to have more nuts between a z28 and a SS is debatable. I would like to see the z28 have the 550 and the SS have less because the SS is a communitive badge for GM as z28 is specific for camaros. I think someone has already stated that. but heres my point. since z28 is so specific it is attractive. camaro enthusiasts and non camaro enthusiasts will want one. How do you make alot of money as a car manufacturer in a downturned economy where the little bit above blue collar worker/family can afford and will want to spend/invest (though cars are not good investments) money into a car like that? You make the car the majority wants, the z28, the cheaper of the two. You have to remember what kind of economy we live in right now and what GM would do as a business decision to make the most they can out of this, cause thats what its all about. if gm couldn't make money off this new camaro they wouldn't have made it or any other car.

My first reaction is Camaro because Corvette's are everywhere, but I think this car will be 'everywhere' real quick. Thats a hard one. Id buy a super nice 4th gen, and have some $$ left over, if I was ever in the position.

The Z28 has never been the top option package for a Camaro...unless they didn't make a SS or IROC that year...the SS has always been the top of the line car.

I have not had a burning desire to have a Corvette since I was about 18 years old. Nice cars, just not my style.

Camaro, Just not a big vette fan. They are nice but I rather have a fully loaded camaro. Beside my family wouldn't fit in a vette unless I stuffed the kids in the hatch.

Which will hold the resale 10 / 15 years down the road.

Vett no rust (fiberglass)
camaro back seat.

Old fat guys do the vetts.
Younger pepole like the camaros.
