What's wrong with the LS2?

Nothings wrong with the LS2, its just that Motor Trend, Consumer Reports, ect will tear the Camaro apart if that motor is found in a new Camaro. Have to remember that Camaro is competing with more than Mustang and Challenger. Its got Audi TT, BMW M3, Hyundai Tiburon, 350Z, Some AMG Mercedes, and a host of others in the 'affordable fast' range.

The Trailblazer is getting the axe after this year isn't it? That means the LS2 will probably be done also.

I'm gonna guess that the lower of the v8 models, be it Z28 or SS, will probably use the same 6.0L found in the G8. The higher model v8 will probably use the supercharged engine that's in the CTS-V.

Ya TrailBlazer is dead and the new Lamba based Traverse will take over.

i asked my dad about it he works at milford also and does all the emissions testing he said he wasnt sure but the 550 hp version might be a ls3 he heard about that is bein supercharged possibly, 2 weeks from now hes bein switched over to th ehigh performance car group which means theirs a good chance of seein the new vette with th e badass motor in it or the camaro at one of our shows coming up soon................god forbid he leaves the keys at home and goes out of town on business

I can't see it happening either. They need to make this an affordable V8 car that an average person can afford. I'm sure they will have a top dog Camaro, but it won't be near that power range. I believe the Challenger is suppose to be just shy of $40,000. I bet the Camaro will have a bit more power, and about the same price.

he said the Z28 is going to 550hp.... or whatever the limited production version is. And quite frankly there had better be a 500+ horsepower camaro because GM needs to acknowledge the fact that GT500s do exist, regardless of it being in vette territory.

if the SS is pushing 430 (LS3), 550 really isnt all that much ahead... as its just enough to show a GT500 the tailights.

remember that there could very well be THREE production v8s this time instead of one. (thank god!)

i would imagine an updated 5.3 for the base v8, an LS3 for the SS, and a detuned LS9 for the Z28.

GM never liked the Camaro encroaching on the Corvette's territory.

The Camaro won't have 550HP, that would overtake the Z06 - which GM won't let happen.

On another note, regarding the LS3, how do those exhaust butterflies in the tail pipes increase power?

That's what I was told. To run with the Mustang GT500
I will ask him to bring home a mule if and when he can.
Last fall he let me drive a V8 4x4 high stance Colorado with a 4.10 or 4.11 rear end . Will be a 2009 model. That was a fast truck.
