Rims at $88 per rim isn't bad... the $550 per tire is what kills that idea. lol

Well that was a quick turnaround time. I think I ordered this on Thursday or Friday... Already arrived today with fresh coats of Red Rock Metallic and clear coats...

Installation instructions are pretty shitty, though. It came with 6 "locator tabs" which are essentially 6 strips of paper with a hole in the center and we're supposed to use that to locate where to drill the holes in the trunk lid? Doesn't make sense to me. I might need to make my own template out of paper or cardboard or something.

There's clear plastic wrapped on the corners to protect the paint, that's what you see in the pics. The paint is immaculate, better than factory.

Well now that I have the starter fixed it's running good again Until something else goes bad, that is.

So today was a lot of fun - I took the dive and installed my aftermarket factory-style spoiler. I took pictures through the various steps, it took a lot of guts for me to start drilling into the factory trunk lid but it had to be done.

So the spoiler didn't come with an actual template. They had "locator strips" which were essentially just pieces of paper with a locating hole for the bolt. You center the strip of paper on the spoiler where the bolts go, tape it to the spoiler, then lay the spoiler on the car. Tape the strips to the car, then peel the spoiler off and hope the strips haven't moved.

Spoiler in place with the locator strips:

            Strips taped down:

Carefully removed the spoiler, leaving the locator strips in place:

Next up "Drill, baby, drill!" I also used touchup paint to "seal" the bare metal where I just drilled.

Foam grommets to help with avoiding rust.

Interestingly enough, in 2012 the 1LS did come with the spoiler.

                  That looks really good, Brian.

Maybe they pulled the spoiler to help with fuel economy (aerodynamic drag).

Right, they added it after a couple years of the plain rear on the base model. may not have time to do again before the new model arrives.

Yeah, been wasting no time at all. Might get an appointment for tint tomorrow afternoon/Saturday.

Going to plastidip the spoiler and the "Camaro" letters on either fender. I still haven't decided about the wheels.
