  • Got a new DD

Like the title states, I finally got a new DD. Its a 2006 GXP with 75,000 miles and a couple mods. So far I love it. It looked good before all the bugs, I forgot to bring some mist and shine.

sigpic2000 NBM SS M6 #7996 Dyno tuned, LS6 intake, SLP mass and lid, MSD wires, TR5's, LT headers, Borlamouth, suspension mods, 17 by 11 ZR1's at all four corners with NITTO NT05'S. WANNABE AUTOCROSSER

I like those cars! GXP is the only way i would ever buy one. Bugs are about the only downfall of white - my fusion always looks splattered to hell.

        That isn't a 5.3 is it?

From what I heard the 5.3 in the Impalas since its a front wheel drive car the transmissions were garbage because of it.

There is currently 3 TBS reports on the 06 GXP for automatic transmission.

EDIT: Like 5 or 6 haha.

Yep, its the LS4. Your right the trans are not the best, but this one was replaced at 53,000 miles. They do better with a good shift kit and big trans cooler witch it has already.

Ahh thats good. I didn't know they came up with solutions for them, I just knew they sucked because its pretty hard on a front wheel drive transmission with a V8 strapped to it.

She is nice looking though, but the rims aren't so much to me. What size are they like 20s or something? Hahah.

Need to be British and call it a Saloon, much better sounding than sedan.

              Nice sedan!

We should compare torque steer sometime.

Yes TJ they're 20's. Not my first choice in rim but, they can be changed. I want to find a good set of stockers, or maybe some bonniville GXP rims.

They didn't, they just throw in cert rebuilds that just go to shit like the first ones. But my GF's gxp is at 72k miles on the stock trans and it shifts fine, but the trans has been tuned and DoD shut off. (yes DoD has been linked to trans failure)... You should be on the right path with the trans cooler and shift kit. They are pretty nice cars though, we have had ours since 30,000mi, now its at 72,000mi and the only thing we have replaced is brakes, tires, and water pump.

Very nice! Keep us posted on how things go with it, as I wouldn't mind eventually replacing my Malibu lease with a clean Impala SS...
