  • Well we finally got the transmission rebuild kit and we were planning on doing it ourselves originally, but to save some time we decided to have a shop or someone else do it for us. If anyone knows a good place for us to have the transmission rebuild, please let me know.

      • Nice, so will it be ready by M&G?

        • Thanks Jon it's give them a call, and Anthony I'm hoping but i'm not gonna promise anything we still have quite a bit to do still. We need to get a new speedometer gear, tune the car, and we still need to get the y-pipe welded up and get a cat delete pipe, along with some other small things.

Thanks Greg, I can't wait to get it out on the road after all of this time, and maybe I'll be able to make it to the M & G.

                • I know it's been awhile, but just to keep everyone up to date, the transmission has been rebuild and put in the only thing that isn't bolted together is the torque converter and the flexplate. We already swapped to drive gear out, but we can find a 41 tooth driven gear. Does anyone know where I can get one for a 700r4.

                      • Well, I welded the exhaust together then put it on, and yesterday I was about to get the hood back on and wash the car for the first time, but when we fired it up with the transmission to start breaking the trans in we think we spun a bearing in the motor so it's coming back out . On the bright side with the time we have last night and today we just about have it ready to be pulled out just have to take the motor mounts back off then it will be out.

                            • We got the motor out today and took off the oil pan and didn't see anything. So tomorrow we're gonna have to start taking the motor apart and check the bearings and see where it goes from there.

                              • I'm curious what was happening that made you think it was a bearing in the motor?
