edit: I think it had the 75ish style tail lights so im guessing its not the car, but i could be wrong. in any case its very very similar.

ill try to dig it up, thanks for the lead joel

              That's a nice car.

My uncle has an '81 Z28 that he bought new, I believe it's the same color scheme. He's the original owner.

That was a nice car. Seems that for some reason brown cars survive longer than any other color.

That's a good idea, especially if he's been there since he was 16...

How long ago did he sell it? Does he even have a name?

You really need a VIN...with a VIN you can go through the Secretary of State and see if it's been sold in the last 10 years...if it has they'll be able to give you a complete owner trail for that time period.

Without a VIN, or if it hasn't sold in the last 10 years, you can run down their name through People Finder or something similar, but that will be just a bit more time consuming.

When I was looking for a car, I test drove one exactly like that one except for a 4-speed...

I have GOT to get mine going next season. All these pics of '79s are killing me (well, that, the bills, truck, "bird, etc [you get the idea]). Good luck on the search, but don't let them bring your buying price up to $250k.
