  • Anyone want to buy a 4th gen Spohn Torque Arm?

Apparently it's not compatible with the eibach 1" lowering springs...

Not to be a drag B but need to watch out with the Sophn arms. The welds have been breaking on them. Do a search. Just forewarning.

Granted the cross brace is bolted on top of the bracket for the subframe connectors, but we're only talking about the thickness of the subframe brackets... maybe 1/4-1/2 inch? I can't believe how low this hangs down... I actually got stuck backing out of the driveway because it was scraping so hard... I had to pull forward and readjust to a more extreme angle and then I was able to get out.

Gar - awesome... I bought this off Sean since it was a good deal, but I need to figure something out. I might be able to get by using their regular cross brace instead of the long tube / ypipe brace but it's ****ing $165+$40 to buy off of Spohn's website.

I think it depends on when it was made.. My car is not a beast by any means, but my Spohn torque arm has many many launches on it.. no issues at all.. I have the same Torque arm as B, mine has been on my car since 2007.. Also B, unless you put some sticky tires on there, I highly doubt you will have an issue regardless of when it was made... My car is lowered too, and I won't lie, I couldn't go over a speed bump to save my life with that torque arm.. Luckily my driveway is not like yours and I avoid speed bumps like the plague..

I bought a used Spohn made for factory exhaust and modified it to just barely clear the exhaust, but my car isn't lowered either.

A UMI or similar crossbrace will work also. At least it should in theory.

Wow, thats ridiculous!!! Ive never heard of anything like this. My umi is kinda low at the differential but its about even with my duals anyway.

Even though I do not like spohn, wonder how it would look on my camaro haha

The Spohn with the regular crossbrace is bad, but tolerable. When I got longtubes and a 4" exhaust and had to upgrade to the new crossbrace, yeah, it almost didn't make it onto the dyno at Detroit Speedworks back in the day because it bottomed out on the way up. I HATED driving with that crossmember so low.

I have the regular Spohn crossmember if you wanted to give it a try. I kinda want to hang onto it for now, but if you wanted to test fit it before dropping the coin from Spohn I'd be more than happy to let you borrow it.

I don't know what I'm going to do - I don't have the coin to drop on getting a replacement brace... Looks like I either have to live with it or go back to stock.
