If you guys want to try a different pad, Wagner Thermo-Quiets are pretty nice for the money. Not any where near as dusty as my duracrap ones were and no noise out of them

Side note; I want some powdercoated 10 spokes =)

I've been using Hawk Ceramics and usually get 3+ years out of them. Try those instead.
Also, you will need to scrub the face of the wheel with a more harsh cleaner and a more abrasive method than a wet cloth. Don't go crazy with a wire brush but try some other stiffer brushes first.

This can help you differentiate between different pads (look at the dot ratings)

I have faith in these lager rotors, im counting on them not warping. Dont seem to hear many vette guys *****ing about warped rotors, I hope I yield the same results.

Im ready to switch to something else pad wise, I would just hate to loosing stopping power ya know?

If brake dust is your main concern buy cermanic pads.

IMO The biggest culprit of warped rotors is cheap materials. Not an hour after I wash the tuner the front and rear rotor have a rust film on them. This does not happen with the rotors on my corvette. Also be sure to evenly torque down your lug nuts

Nope, rocking 13in vette rotors son! The size alone gets me a little more leverage when it comes to stopping power, and the added material means it takes longer for them to heat up. Plus vette rotors, unlike fbody, feature directional cooling vents to help chill them down when they get toasty! Im happy with them so far, put they only have a few thousand on them. We will see how they hold up!

As far as cleaning these wheels.... I am sicker than death right now, been sitting in bed on the laptop watching TV for the better half of the day. My head feels like its going to explode, and ive gone though a whole box of kleenex (seriously, where in the hell does all this snot come from!). I havent been sick like this in a LONG time. Not happy, hopping I feel a little more chipper in the morning. Get the car cleaned up, change the oil, install relocation brackets and new TA cover and relax and wait for woodward time!

X2 on cobalts material quality. My cobalt stops damn well but rusts as soon as the damn thing is stationary.

The only thing that has worked so far was simple green, and its still not getting it all off, got an easy hour into them now and their far from perfect.

Also oil is changed and heading out to Woodward around 730.

If you are having no luck so far, might want to try the Ask Autuolavish thread over on motown:

Thanks, will do! Guess I will finally have to make an account over there, ugh, lol.

I had the front passenger off last night to take a look at our brake mishap from this weekend. Absolutely SOAKED the wheel in simple green, which helped letting it sit on there like that. But still doesnt get some of the weirder streaks off of it.

Have you tried the clay, or maybe a fine rubbing compound?

have you tried bug and tar remover?

or this may sounds crazy but also try white vinegar

I will try those at home. I use white vinegar all the time at home when im cleaning in or around the saltwater tanks, thats a good idea.
