whats the best stuff to clean rims with?

good afternoon all,i just pulled my LE rims and there's quite a bit of brake dust and crud.does anyone know of the best and safest stuff to use ?

Regular car wash soap and water is safe on anything and its what I use on my powdercoated wheels. Not super keen on all the acidic sprays and wheels cleaners out there.

Are the machined faces of the 35th LE wheels cleared? Or is that just bare aluminum? I thought it was just bare aluminum.

they're the machine faced and painted LE rims,i don't really want to f them up but this guy who had it before me never touched them it looks like

Liquid dish soap works great to clean off brake dust, road grim and tar, if need to be a soft brush or elbow grease, then use a good wheel wax to protect and make future cleanings easier

WD40 is safe for just about anything. Most people already have some on the shelf so its worth a try.

Diluted simple green with a sponge

Used it on my polished wheels, and on the chrome Z06's on the TA..never had a problem...been using it for at least 5 years now

Simple green can tarnish and ruin aluminum, use caution.

As long as you dilute it very good shouldn't have any issues at all. Chrome looks brand new as did the polished aluminum wheels back when I had them. I forget the ratio I use at the moment, dunno why I can't remember

If they are a factory wheels they are cleared. Bare aluminum goes to hell pretty quick if not maintained often.

Eagle One A2Z all wheel and tire cleaner has always worked good for me. Either that or the Meguiars version

+1 works everytime and my whells still look like new. Those acidic cleaners will ruin the polish and leave a haze if you make any type of mistake or don't clean it off completely.

The acidic cleaners will cause the chrome plating to lift off over time. Ask me how I know.

how do you
