  • New Drag Radials

Ordered a new set of Nitto 555R drag radials today. Got a price on Discounttiredirect.com and took it to my local Discount tire and they matched the online price. Tires should be here Monday or Tuesday. Had to do something, those 60' times were atrocious.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

I have a set on my 18s they made a huge difference compared to the. Sumotomos I had hell before at 35/40 all I had to to is hit it and id ice the tires off the revlimiter till I let off of it now it only ices them at like 25. I can't still smoke thru 3rd but. If I play it rite I smoke thru first and hook hard into 2 but I think at the track id do way better soon to find out. But if your. Running at the track all the time ET streets are way better

Well, can't be any worse than the 2.30's walking it out with part throttle. Didn't want anything that would absolutely hook up, don't want to break the rear. Has to be WAY better than what I have now.

Is that the gear u have 2.30 didn't think they came with that gear I was doing it with a 3.42 gear . If u have that gear u should hook very well unless u have sum engine work done

I think that is his 60' time, not his gear ratio.

I'm figuring that if I can knock those 2.30's down to 1.80's, I'll knock a half second off the 1/4 mile. And since the 2.30's, I've done a headers, ory, 224r cam, and ls6 intake swap along with a dyno tune. Fingers crossed, but hoping for mid to high 11's. Car also has 3.73's and a 2800 converter with a shift kit in the trans.

.1 at the 60' is usually worth .2 off the ET so you'd probably be dropping a lot more.

I put 275-17 bfg drag radials on mine. What is a safe speed to run in the rain going to get wet tommorow. Thanks Pete

Because you don't have too big of a stall I think you can achieve your goals but overall those tires are just okay

I know from my last car that the M/T's are the best drag radial out there, but I just didn't want a tire that would dead hook and kill the rear end. Besides these look like they will be a little better than the M/T's in the rare times I get caught out in the wet. Discount tire just called and they're in already. Might get them put on this evening.
