Slide it onto the steering rack first, it will slide down far enough to let the top of it slide onto the steering column shaft. Then you can tighten both bolts.

Or vice versa, try whatever way you're not doing right now. Lol. But I'm pretty sure what I said above is correct.

yeah I was trying to remember how we did it on yours fred, thanks for the input.

just in case anyone was wondering, its steering shaft first then rack...I was trying to fish it on when the bolt was still on the rack. both bolts need to be removed.

Its steering wheel shaft first because it can slide further than the "home" position on that end.

Its an easy job if youre one of the lucky ones that has proper fit of those parts to begin with. I wasnt lucky. The steering wheel shaft was a slightly larger diameter than the linkage... IE didnt want to go back on. I was smacking it with a bfh for a while but an easier method would be to file the inside edge of the linkage mouth... Wont affect anything because the bolt will snug it together once installed anyway.

Got the 350 TPI mostly tore down. Time to order a gasket kit and make sure it all checks out correctly. Better safe than sorry.

then it should be good to go once my mail order tune comes back

Broke down the front end suspension for blasting and paint. I couldnt believe it when the lower control arm bolts just slid out. Just gotta love southern cars!

Since both k members were out and bare. I put them side by for comparison. The only difference I see is engine mount bolt holes. The shape of the member is the same.

Fixed a pin hole coolant leak. Line that runs from the radiator to the throttle body got too close to idler pulley

got my exhaust back together after much frustration lol. planning on getting longer bolts and using the stock y-pipe support just to have some piece of mind. I dont like how low the catback hangs.
