I'm at a loss of what I want to do with the exhaust.
I have Loudmouths sitting in the back seat but I'm not sure if I want to run them.
    Or Super 10s or what!
    I JUST DON'T KNOW!

Well got the aluminum radiator in.
      Now new problem.
When moving around the trans lines, one must of cracked and is now spewing trans fluid.
      Joy.

Fix one thing another thing goes wrong.

Tyler came over and we got the lower radiator hose, upper radiator hose, thermostat, water neck, and temped the trans line with compression fittings until I get the factory bent ones in.

Haven't figured out where the oil is coming from. Its coming somewhere on the back of the driver side.

So that leads me to believe distributor, valve cover, intake manifold, one of them is the cause.
Its only dripping when its been running so its something on the top end.

Changed the intake manifold gaskets, and valve cover gaskets, and hopefully fixed the dripping lower radiator hose.

Now just trying to get the timing right.

Dodge is so backwards its not even funny. I pulled out the dizzy and was like um where is the gear? The gear stays inside the block. Jeez. Then I remove all the bolts on the intake and I'm trying to pry it off and man this thing was stuck. Well then I realized you need to remove the valve covers in order to remove the intake. Jeez. Then when you set timing on a SBC TDC #1, rotor facing #1 and plug on the cap facing #1. Well this is TDC #1, then the rotor and cap face straight forward.

Sweet seems like I got the timing and idle mixture right now.
                  No back fires.

The idle mixture screws were way rich so I believe there was a leak somewhere before and they just tuned the carb to compensate for the extra air, then when I changed the gaskets it was then to rich causing the back fire on decel.

So what I did was screwed the idle mixture screws in fully, then 1 1/2 turns out. Put on the vacuum gauge and adjusted the timing until I got the best vacuum. Then adjusted the idle mixture screws until I got the best vacuum. There is just the slightest smell of gas in the exhaust.

Now I just need my battery tray from Darren and then on to the next thing haha.

Good to know. Better you then me. I may have to pull my drivers side head on the 49 to get out a broken exhaust manifold bolt. You know what would look good on your car... black out the purple panel that goes behind the headlights. Just my .02

On your mopar is there a kickdown cable for the trans? Some people say there are, some people say they run off of vacuum. Just trying to see what's out there because i'm new to all this mopar stuff.

                      I'm new to it too.

There is a kick down cable on my 727 trans.

I am thinking about blacking out the hood cowl down the road.

The only way for me to hit passing gear is with the B&M mega shift

Don't ask me I know nothing about this cars yet haha.

Well got the battery tray back in and shes purring like a kitten. Starts instantly, just ever so slight smell of gas in the exhaust so I'm pretty sure the carb is in tune. Revved it up to 2500 and shut the key off and no back fires so I'm positive I've got her where I want her.

So 3 of my 4 cars are up and running haha.

Trans could be weighted to behave that way. A lot of people do it to make shifting manually more responsive. My cousins coronet would be trying to shift into 3rd in his driveway. But if you held it back with the shifter and clicked it forward it would bark the tires instantaneously. No laggy electronic paddle shift bullshit there.

Well got the front strut rod bushings changed out.
Took it for a drive, pulls left but least the front tires dont squeal.
So should be able to take it in for a front end alignment now.
Now matter what I do I can't get the alignment right.

She blows off the tires in first and chirps second gear.
