Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

Good work and nice welding! I been too distracted to make progress on my Camaro
Did you consider getting a 6 point belt system? That seems to be the new standard from what I have read,
Thanks I originally ordered 6 point harnesses, but I wouldn't be able to run them through the passengers seat and the drivers looked iffy. Nice thing about RJS is that at any point I can head over there and they can change the anti-sub on the drivers side from a 5 to a 6. They are

For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day, you shall have a track day, a Sabbath of competing, to time the FIREBIRD; whoever does any work on it shall be put in last place.
How do you get the IP back in with those front bars?
Sawsall I fully expect to have to cut it in certain places in order to get it back in

Moving the car. Couldn't help but take pics. I think its going to look great! Shame you can't see so much of it with the hatch down CAM008801.jpg CAM008771.jpg
Painted and waiting to dry. Going to put everything back together later tonight for the long drive to FL to pick up the new Moser rear end CAM008911.jpg CAM008921.jpg CAM008901.jpg

A little bit of both. Currently still street but eventually will end up a dedicated racer.

ahhh good call, have you ever seen what happens to your head in an accident inside a roll cage on the street, when you normally wouldn't wear a helmet.

Donor car on the right. This was at my gf's brothers house in FL. The Moser 9 inch rear end goes into mine along with BMR tubular torque arm and driveshaft safety loop. My diff will be swapped into that TA so he can sell the car. Every offer he received was a price of a stock TA. No reason to sell the car for that price and give away the go fast bits. There were a total of 8 cars at the house. 3 Supra's, 2 Scoobies, and 3 Pontiacs. 20140516_132942.jpg
The only shot with the differential. That guy is much bigger than the stock 10 bolt. I also grabbed some new bushings directly from BMR since they were only a half hour drive down the road. My lower bolt on relocation brackets wouldn't fit the new differential, so if anyone is interested, I will be selling them for 50. Included is one set of bolts with spacers. 20140515_170427.jpg
I don't plan on competing in the autocross this weekend, but I do plan on going to the track day/ HPDE at Waterford Hills this Sunday. I need to adjust my seat brackets so its not so cramped with a helmet on. With the low seating position, it might be difficult to see the cones I will still bring my car to the autocross in case any of you are there.
The next things that I will begin working on and updating with pictures are a front splitter, rear diffuser, and possibly an aluminum roof.

Took it to its first autox today. I have to say that the new suspension did very well. Apart from the wet/muddy track in some areas, it was very stable. My first couple runs the damping in the rear was stiffer than the front, which made it very tail happy in the corners and under full throttle. Spinning the rear tires almost constantly, although still having lots of fun. Stiffened up the front and made the car much more stable.

Track day coming up at Waterford Hills Raceway in Clarkston, and I want to try some aero mods. I plan on finishing hooking up the accusump as soon as some fittings come in, but in the meantime I want to see what differences a splitter and diffuser will make to top speed and lap times.
Here are some pictures of the diffuser that I began working on today. I did the CAD in Solidworks and did some preliminary flow analysis, and I know that it does produce downforce lol. Anyway, here are the pictures so far. Two more vertical fins will be added that contour around the wheel and will turn towards the drivers/pass sides. I also plan on extending it to the axle centerline as required by the rules for the class I plan on competing in.

Thanks! The Kirkey seat is fixed back, the passengers side is not. By the time it is a complete dedicated racecar, I will remove the pass seat and install a fire suppression system in its place. The Kirkey is not FIA approved, but it is NASA/SCCA approved. Hard to beat a fully enclosed seat for ~$500. I had to make my own seat brackets in order to mount it in the car. I plan on having the accusump leak tested and hooked up tomorrow. After that it is time spent working on the diffuser and splitter. Pic will follow after some noticeable progress.

Didn't know about the autox at the Silverdome would love to run my 2000 Z28 somewhere but I think Waterford is out of my budget. Ran a few slow laps last year at Camaro Superfest Waterford event only got to 70 in back straight because of traffic.
