I'm a pretty huge fan of matte black so I support it. I think it'd look good on the Regal!

That truck looks to be a satin black (semigloss) not matte, but does look damn good!
I think this person got it just right:

Just did a little research. Theres so many ways to do this its just not funny. Black base with egg shell clear. Or plasti dip. Or semi gloss clear over black base. Hot rod paints as 3 systems one even has metalic in it. Duplicolor paint shop has a matte clear. Wow just wow.
But it is very cheap to do. $175 for the most exspensive 1 gallon kit. With the reducers and all.

True. Good thing there isnt any dents and I have air files and a ton of long blocks. Honestly any paint I chose was going to require a tone of blocking due to my own mind set on paint quality. But thats was a good point greg.Originally posted by Gregs_gsxr View Postgoing to half to make sure the body is straight and flat with doing black.

Downside to a flat/matte/semigloss is there is no buffing it. What you get out if the gun is what you have to deal with. Better hope it comes out clean. Also, any bug guts really stand out and are a pain to get off. Just make sure it's really the look you want. Just my $.02

Well I do like the grim power of the shadows kinda looks. Something that just looks dark and sinister and fast sitting still. Good point to on the buffing issue.Originally posted by mcalus View PostDownside to a flat/matte/semigloss is there is no buffing it. What you get out if the gun is what you have to deal with. I think it could look sweet in a dark dark gray metallic that almost looks black in low lighting, but just enough to break it apart from some nice black wheels. I'm a fan of gloss paint myself, seems like it would be a pain to maintain if it's going to be a track car with gobs of rubber being added behind the rear wheels
I like the look you're going for though, clean low and mean!2000 Trans Am l 1967 Firebird
