Yea, give some details on this build dammit!
Pretty cool that you powder coated that much. With that much attention to detail, surely will look amazing!

Very nice, did you rig up that apparatus to powder coat the bolts or is that something you guys have around the shop for that purpose?
I think next year my engine bay, including 24x swap and tubular front end stuff is going to be my big project.-Joel

Time will tell I suppose, I took more teaser pics just to have more fun on here but (obviously) haven't posted them yet.Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View Postwell seems like you have conveniently taken pics that don't give away details but my guess is a 416ci LS3 motor.
We (thankfully) had them laying around. My suggestions to anyone is...... figure out all your bolts before hand... cleaning every single one is such a *****.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostVery nice, did you rig up that apparatus to powder coat the bolts or is that something you guys have around the shop for that purpose?

Time for a life lesson boys and girls....
One thing I have truly accomplished with this project so far is actually realizing how detailed oriented I am (whether this is a new development or not is up for debate
). The small things I never thought would bug me with this project are eating away and pissing me off to no extent now. The biggest thing right now..... is my engine bay. SON OF A *****. I wish I would have just slowed the F down before I sent it out to get painted. Overall the paint job looks great, especially from up top, there are a few areas toward the bottom where you can tell the painter really just didn't take their time or give a shit. Worse yet I found a spot where its already cracking (with 0 miles driven on it and just having it rolled onto and off a trailer, kinda not acceptable in my book). Needless to say now I'm debating on taking it back. Also for those of you who have been going through this whole thread, have noticed I repainted and put a new rear cover on my diff. Well somehow the cover has a dent in it and what I think happened was the seal got cracked slightly and has now started a slow but sure, painful-to-me leak (before I'm asked, it didn't leak while it sat in the shop before I took it to paint).
So I'm irritated with that to begin with. Now for another thing I'm realizing... I should have just taken the damn time to make things even nicer aka smooth more things out. With the amount of detail I'll be putting into other things I'm going to be pissed if these rough and no purpose spots stand out. So if I decide to take it back to paint, there will be some additional changes to that.
So the take aways from this....
1) Make sure you decide 110% on what you want before you have something freshly painted
2) Dont escalte your build project to huge proportions............
3) Just because it is a reputable shop doesn't mean you should wait to closely inspect the work
4) Details Details Details........ suck and they are a lot of work as two new pics might explain a little more...

And I'm still holding out on other pictures and details of other things.........ssssooorrrrrrrrryyyy......... but.... it shouldn't be much longer

Surprised, I thought the takeaway would have been leave the for sale sign on it and buy a vette
I hear ya though. This is why im letting my engine bay related projects wait another season. The suspension you would think is a weekend job took me over a month
