I could get you pretty much all the parts to swap to 2WD for pretty cheap if need be.

I have a 2wd 4l60e in the garage right now that I could use. It's for the '60 Impala but that project is going at a snails pace and could replace it LONG before it is needed for that project.

So far my options are a 145k mile one for $200 or a 82k mile unit for $500. Both prices seem a little high. I'm leaning towards the $200 trans at the moment - new band, clutch pack, servo, and sunshell would be installed.

Any cheap transmissions on MIfbody?

EDIT: Now that I think of it, the trans I have is from a f-body and that $200 trans if from a truck...which would be better for the Imala

Found a low mile (under 36k) 6.0 and a 145k mile 5.3 (complete with harness) combo, hopefully picking it up tomorrow afternoon

It a package deal I'm going to sell the 5.3 unless the piston slap is too annoying (6.0 was replaced under warranty for the slap issue). The 5.3 needs a new head gaskets

how much do headgaskets go for? i wish timing would ever be in my favor

I'd guess that it would be in the $180 range for good gaskets and head bolts. I'd sell the engine as complete as possible with harness for $400

Let me get the motors first. I still haven't gotten the check that was supposed to come last week, it's really starting to frustrate me. I sent him a text letting him know the situation and we're working on a down payment/remaining balance upon pickup deal (if possible)
