He was recently talking about whether or not he could use rattle cans instead of a paint gun and just spot paint which is why I brought it up. Not sure on his timeline.

The end result wilbe with an entire respray. But. In the near future I plan on putting down some color and a lot of clear & then wetsand and buff the hood and panel just to get me by untill I can retire the car long enough to strip down and do a full respray

UPDATE: Got my CAI installed. The description on the it didnt mention anything about cutting a bigger whole in the engine bay to fit the filter, so just for now i will have the filter in the top of the engine bay like these pictures.

Another paint question: Is it possible to wetsand and buff the plastic bumpers? Or are you better off to just buff them?

The material doesn't matter for wet sanding...

If there is paint, sure you can wet sand, then polish. But you really don't need to wet sand unless you're trying to get rid of orange peel. Other imperfections should be able to be fixed with the right compound and a buffer.

Now if you're trying to do any of this to the areas without clear coat, don't bother. I'd save yourself the time and spend that time making more money to pay for a decent repaint

Just my $.02 but I would do absolutely nothing to the paint until you're ready to get the whole car done

95% of the car has great paint/clear coat. The hood and fender where i dont have clear i coat i dont touch what so ever. Just to make that all clear..
I asked this because of the scratches/swirl marks in the "good portions" of the paint i want out.

Even though i have run into some issues with putting up the new Thrush 2 chamber muffler, ive got some pictures and a before video to share!

                    Old flowmaster 2 chamber muffler

After i got the tailpipes out of the flowmaster this is what i was left with, lmao

Temperature coated the original muffler(still wet)

did a good cleaning on the tips while i had them accessible Before

                    After

P.S: I know i had the muffler setup wrong in that picture. i just put the tailpipes down next to it randomly.

Well good news with this update, the to do list is getting smaller and the done list is getting longer . The car has a new alternator, serpentine belt and trans mount. The next thing is either paint or headers i cant quite decide.. But as far as paint goes im looking to imitate this onto my car

I love the grand sport stripes, and the red painted badges.

And a question on headers, my local shop wont do a header install, any recommendations?

get paint before headers, and install the headers yourself.

The bolts on the headers on deterring my from doing it myself. and the lack of a car lift..
