• We'll I just started the car and the noise disappeared for the mean time. Still going to pull the covers and post up some pics after I pick up Antonio from school

    • We'll the rockers seem to be okay? Some have very very tiny play left to right but from what I've read that's normal

        • I would recommend checking both sides if you haven't already, hard to tell from those pics. If thats not the case its possible you developed a intermittent lifter tick.

          • Yes I plan on checking both sides. What exactly should I be looking for with the covers off? Metal shavings.. Broken parts and moving up and down?

            • If one is coming apart it will have a lot more play than all the rest.

              • let the car get warm and see if it comes back. i had a nasty tick before DETROITMUSCLE heard it when ti was on the dyno and ended up being a collapsed lifter

                • all comments above are very true. you may have a lifter going bad and loosing prime at higher rpms, sometimes when that happens it take a mintes to gin it prime back. heat plays a roll in the noise factor when this happens. as heat exspands the metal in the lifter. making the seal alittle looser in the lifter.

                  • So so I just let it idle for 10 min? Or should I put a small load on it like 2 grand once it's warm?

                      • Took off the driver side and here are some pics. Again everything look good with little play left to right. No shavings

Buttoned the passenger side and driver side all back up and let it idle for 8 min before driving down the road.

The little knock was there a little while after idling. But was not near as loud as the one in the video. Drove it down the road and the knock continued very faint. Again increased with RPM, but only took it up to 14 mph

                            • So I just stick my ear in the hole and see if I hear the knock?

                              • if it doesn't burn oil or get louder, turn up the radio and don't worry about it.
