          • Gauges and what not will all be installed friday.

For the trans, I bought AC Delco trans filter kit and came with a cork gasket. From what I read on ls1tech they are junk? So I purchased a fel pro one just incase (which I will return if I do not use..on the box it says not returnable if opened..and employee opened it up to see if it was rubber when I told her about the cork gaskets..so we will see how that return will go if I happen to go that route)

Anyone have any insight on the cork gaskets? Or should I just use the fel pro one.

either set will work. cork has been used for years. biggest thing is you cant over tighten the trans pan bolts or it will cut the gasket

                  • Alot of running around past 2 days trying to find a bung from a parts store. No one carried female 1/8 for the trans temp. So ordered a kook one from summit and came right on time.

Ran into a problem with the fuel rail adapter. Fit perfectly fine on the rail, just would not thread for the sender. Going to parts store tomorrow to grab the fittings we need (hopefully they have them)...Not doing any business with Jegs again. Their customer service is not helpful at all. Would not overnight the parts to me since the one I have is obviously defective (which the technician I talked to said he was going to overnight it)

Best they offered was to ship it and it would arrive tuesday from what they told me (he sent me back to customer service after talking to him) but I would have to buy the part again and would be refunded.

After jumping back on glowshift, I'm guessing I could have gone with this fitting since it looks to be the right size?

                    • Why did you decide to go Glowgauge and not like Autometer or something?

IMO Glowgauge seems like some cheap gauges, like they just look cheap. I have never seen them in person though.

                      • I like the look of glowshift and like the fact that I can change colors. You get what you pay for, and I have no problem rolling the dice on certain items

Plus they work with my budget .. couple more dollars sure I could have AEM, but like I said, I take chances. Read reviews, feedback from ls1tech yadayada and pulled the trigger

                        • Color change is nice to but I think you can get other well known brands that do it also. I don't know if I'd trust something I am relying on for important information to be "cheap". Like I said I have no experience and never read the reviews on them it just seems like some generic brand.

But I see where you are coming from.

So what are the plans for this puppy? Like the next step that is.

                          • Tomorrow is trans day and finish the gauge install. And slap on a Type R sticker (going to be very time consuming)

After Type R sticker is installed, then probably put in the shocks I picked up from Joel (but will come at a later time..like to do shocks and springs together)

                            Realllllly thinking about whistler mod.

                            • Rear shocks correct?

What are you building a Honda Type R now? Haha.
Tomorrow I plan on ripping the bell back off and the clutch out so I can check for the runout on the bell.

                              • Not sure why you're having to do all the running around - when I ordered my 3 gauges from Glowshift I either bought it as a kit specifically for my car or I told them what kind of car I had and they sent me all the fittings I needed? Further - why are you needing a bung for the trans temp gauge? All you should have to do is pop the plug out of one of the fittings that's already there and then you can screw the trans temp sensor into that.
