Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
If its going to be a permanent block-off, use some exhaust gasket material to seal it. Nothing more annoying than an exhaust leak. I think they sell it in sheets so you can cut it to shape.
Yea thats what I am going to do. Does it matter what gasket I get? Certain brand I should buy maybe?
Yea, it sucks. Havn't gotten ahold of him yet. Already pissing me off. A guy on ls1tech posted a week ago or so about ordering a new motor and doing the work himself. Took the cutout off car. Drilled rivets..new motor from a different company, and new plate..Only cost him $60, so that might be less of a headache than trying to reach this guy.
Heard about people actually getting ahold of him. DMH telling people to send the cutout to him and he will warrant. And the customer not getting their cutout back for 4+ months. Shitty!
Yep, never been down a drag track until last year. Ran the car with my 245's and ran as 12.9..then the retired radials I put down 12.7..All my runs were at Lapeer.
Still going to use those radials until I get a new set or used set.
Rolo - just lay a nice bead of permatex copper on it and then let it dry before you put any exhaust on it.
dumb question but would I have to reapply it when I take the plate off? Most likely on a track day I will crawl under the car and take the plate off. Or maybe on a cruise night.

Yes - sorry, I thought you were just looking for a temporary solution. If you are going to be removing the plate - then make a gasket.
