My car with an old set of heads and scam went 10s driving it to the track and at 3680lbs the LSx platform is more capable than your giving it credit for IMO.
i get what your sayin bud. these arent just complete bolt-on cars im looking at though. one car had major weight reduction to the extent of weighing 2840 the rest are well under 3600 pounds. gear mods. stahl mods. trans mods.

mybe im being misunderstood what im trying to say (problebly due to the way im wording everything) the motor alone isnt propeling these cars into these times, is i guess what im saying. there major weight reduction/ rear gear mods/ along with the bolt-ons.Allan still has factory gears/factory weight. now dont get me wrong there are some very impressive cars there. but not a single one of these cars in the 10's are above 3100 pounds. the cars that are showing full weight of 3600+ pound are running high 11's. that all im trying to say. and im directing this tward allans car. his car has no weight reduction except for his rims and is just a cammed and intake car with a stahl with added weight from sub frame connecters. will the car car faster than 12's you bet yah!! but his tune is alittle off im sure and he's lacking the the shift point, thats where i did agree when i found out what intake he was running.allans got alittle work ahead of him to get to those numbers. most these guys in this list from 10's to low 11's are running a much better fast intake i found from doing a seach.and in theroy should equal out when you put allans cam into play. thats all im saying. not trying to be rude or mean to anyone at all, thats not my style or my demeanor. my 01 ws6 didnt even run them numbers cammed and headers till i lost alittle weight taking out rear seats and jacks/spare so on. I live and sware by the LSX platform i know they can de tremendouse things that why i have built so many of them. and going to run one myself lol. thanx for trying to help out jeff i always enjoy talking to you.

    • Its no problem I'm not the type to typically get fired up I was just trying to help, I'm not saying Allan should have a 10 second car at all, when Mike posted that link he was just showing that the stock heads and cam are very capable and yes I agree those cars are all LIGHT and the top one are most likely track only cars just pushing the envelope. I don't see the heads as being as much of a problem with his combination as the converter and gearing are and of course we know any weight reduction will help it as well.

Put some pushrods in it ASAP - they are only $100
Correction. It has the TSP chrome moly pushrods in it. Just checked with Ken on this. Totally forgot they came with the kit.

        • I'm seeing the "Traction" light on my dash come on a lot more now, even with the bigger tires. More power? Who knows. Went from a bias ply to a radial though.

Might go to the track tonight to see how the new setup runs.

            • Love the car minus the tips. Hideaways would make that look X1000 times better IMO.

Get me a 150 lb or lighter driver and this is an 11 second slip.

                              • Time for some updates.

Toward the end of 2012 I ran a 11.87 @ 112 with the same 'ol setup I'd had since when Ken built it with the exception of BBK intake, line lock, and battery relo.

Over the brief Texas winter, we did the following:

Moser 9", narrowed 3" each side, back braced, spool, 4.11 gear, 35 spline
                                Aluminum driveshaft with forged yoke
Weld RTS wheels: 15x10's in the rear, 5.5" BS. 17x4.5's in the front (I forget the backspace)
New 275/60/15's, new front runners from M&H (only company that I could find that makes a tire for that wheel)
VFN "pin on" Fiberglass 4" cowl hood using Dzus rails and fasteners.
Optic armor polycarbonate coated lexan window (looks just like glass, and is very sturdy, less than half the weight)
                                SLP manual fan control switch
Removed the front grill, took out the foam piece, removed the windshield washer tank.
                                New red top optima battery.
Some much needed interior touch ups.

So, we shaved well over 50 lbs from the front but probably added almost 100 lbs to the rear with that Moser. I still need to get some new calipers though, just waiting to sell some of the old parts to do that.

Here are some terrible pics, but you can get the idea. When there is a nice day out here I'll get some good pics. I just got the car back tonight, and sweet baby Jesus. This thing hauls like never before. Taking it to the track tomorrow to see what she runs. No, I'm not putting 500 miles on the rear before I run the b!tCh, it's a race car, don't care. It's had at least 10 heat cycles so far, good enough. The underside of the car from the back is absolutely diabolical, but I forgot to grab a pic, I probably will tomorrow if I can remember. I'll report back with track times.
