Well the Trans Am is finally finished and ready for plates. Spent yesterday finishing off the little jobs; install fan relay, wiper bottle and pump, rear spoiler and stereo (gotta have the tunes). My Pioneer head unit Toasted the old 6x9 speakers (RIP Kicker). Picked up some new JVC's.

Realized the tail lights worked but the 4 ways and indicators didn't. checked the relay and fuse and found out the fuse was missing Also had to rewire the fan switch as the last owner installed a manual switch rather than fix the problem.

Also replaced the rear siezed caliper that caused me no end of problems.

Door panels and rear seats cleaned and ready to be installed as well as the new dash pad. Friday will be a detail day. Might replace the 4th gen front seats with the blue racing ones for now.

Car now runs like a champ now. She'll be ready for the show next week.

New FREE spolier installed (thanks again Marcel)

Engine finished. Now just needs a cleaning.

My mechanic installing my FREE Pioneer stereo. My helper is "helping"

I picked up the car Thursday and brought her home. Spent yesterday cleaning and reassembling the interior. Its amazing how good the car looks considering all I did was give a clean at the coin car wash

The old cracked dash was tossed and a new one installed. Makes a big difference. The door panels vinyl and carpet inserts were cleaned and fit like a glove.

3 hours were spent just cleaning the interior. I went through an entire bottle of Mothers Protectant, scrub brush and two rolls of paper towels!! It took 30 minutes just to vacuum everything. The seats also got a stem clean

Still a few little things to do like pick up a fog light switch, install the back seats and redo the headliner. These will be done in the next month or so. Overall I'm very happy. She purrs like a tiger and pulls hard. Off to the show today to spend some time with friends and enjoy the drive to the show. Oh yea, the radio works great.

Here is how she looked when I got her home.

        Interior reinstalled and cleaned

        Outside washed. Looks pretty good.

woohooo! that thing actually turned out really good, a couple things here and there a little time and elbow grease into cleaning it and boom nice car ! you could probably turn around and flip for some extra coin.

it came out great, enjoy it!

Finally got around to installing the rear trim, seatbelts and back seats. Putting the interior in makes the car more complete and lesss like a "project".

Rear seats were steamed cleaned to near perfection. They hold up pretty well for 23 years. Trim panels were soaked with Mothers Protectant, scrubbed and then sprayed again and wiped clean. You wouldn't believe how bad they were.

Also managed to fix, clean and install the rear security cover.

Next will be to install new front speakers. Gonna use home mid drivers and tweets and see how they sound. Budgeting under $60 for all four speakers!

Time to get the interior finished off.

The headliner I got with the car was in pretty bad shape. No material on a bare backing. The new headliner came REALLY nice, redone in the factory gray.

It'll get installed when I find a new interior lamp and some time.
The front speaker (yes I only have one) finally crapped out. Guess the Pioneer deck was to much power. I picked up some Aura home drivers (3.5") and a set of Pioneer tweeters. I fabbed up a plate, cut some wire and reconnected everything. These things really shine.

Where did you get the headliner from?

It's just the factory headliner recovered.

I bought the car with no headliner and a lot of other interior pieces missing . I got one from a friend but it was all worn and there was no material on it. Other than that, it was in decent shape.

Cost me just over $100. Money well spent.
