• I have heard the katech ones have great clearance for just about any valvetrain, the only downfall is price so I'd say thats your best bet. Will you be enlightening us about the Vspeed experience?
Doing less with more

Thread w/drama = Pics w/drama. You should read the script for the video I have planned!

Have a feeling you meant to post this in the valve cover thread Jeff.

As far as VSpeed goes......lots of "drama" with ownership as a result of these lifters. I will elaborate once I'm back on track with this build, I'm not typing on an iPad at 2am....and when I'm less pissed.

• Picking up new lifters tomorrow

Going to require new pushrods too

So....having a lifter issue on this car requires the following:

1. New lifters....cool race car shit, built here in good 'ol Michigan by Specialty Engine Components aka Johnson Lifters.
2. New pushrods
3. Wire harness adjustments cuz I should have earlier.
4. Intake modifications - added "balancing logs" that an IAC can use to reference
5. Adding some cool newly machined brackets only seen when the hood pops...sorry Sean, you probably cant appreciate it
6. Valve cover appearance mod - not sure if it will get done before PT, but am going to try like hell. @Darren and bigjon88. Might need some powder work

Of course, most of the above was because I can't leave shit alone

Picked up the new lifters today...guys measured up pushrods this afternoon with the hope of having them tomorrow/Saturday. Tried to minimize any dramatic angles to keep Fred happy

Thought it would be a good idea while we had the chance to reduce the amount of unused wiring, connectors, etc. Instead of just cut and tuck, we're tracing it back all the way to the PCM. Weight save!!!! I asked, "how much time do you think it'll take?".....replied, "only a couple hours".

Yeah, right

• Never posted the solution we came up with for a throttle cable and bracket. Stock cable wasn't going to work, Kinsler didn't provide anything, so another custom piece was needed. Working with a machinist that does some killer work came up with this simple bracket based on a napkin sketch and some basic dimensions. Using a Lokar cable and LS1 braket, it's one of my favorite pieces. Same guy is making a handful of other goodies and will post those up soon enough.

If you look close it bridges across the front of the valley cover using the two front bolts which end up counter sunk to the bracket.

Now....keep it brushed or polish it? May eventually anodize it, but don't have time now.
