Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Unfortunately, O'Reilly doesn't have any thread chasers. Going to have to go to another place for that.
Upon further review this afternoon, the STB and CAI look terrible I'll repaint them tomorrow. it would sure be nice if I had something I could hang them from and paint them that way.

Use a few metal clothes hangers and hang them from one side of the balcony to the other. I love those stb's for the lt1, I just ordered one .
I would get new intake gaskets, they are pretty cheap. Then I used some rtv in the front and rear. Better safe then sorry

I'm probably going to have to hang them from a tree. If I hang them anywhere on the balcony they would be too close to the glass doors.
In other news, tonight was one of those "work two hours and accomplish nothing" kind of nights. I can't get the EGR pipe removed because there isn't enough room for a ratchet and I can only get an end wrench on there in such a way that I can't actually turn it. I'm going to need to go to Home Depot to buy a hand saw, the thing I had isn't going to work at all and I have no sawzall (or a place to plug it in even if I did). The AIR fitting on the driver's side header came off easily, but I just about gave myself a hernia trying to get the one on the passenger side loose. I doused it with WD-40 again, so we'll see if that does anything.

Yep this is what i used on mine although it is leaking slightly from the back now. I blame that on myself because i didnt dimple the china wall with a punch before applying it.
The thought occurred to me, but I don't want to drop a couple hundred dollars on a tool I'm only going to need briefly, and I doubt I could rent one from O'Reilly. I'm probably going to pick up a handsaw and a pipecutter from the hardware store today, see if either of those work.

? I don't follow. What are you referring to? Just want to make sure I understand so I don't do the same thing (I picked up a tube of Ultra Grey yesterday)

When you take the intake off there is a wall at the back of the lifter valley that is notorious for leaking. Ive heard from people on here that you can improve the seal by using a punch and hammer to dimple the mating surface.
interesting...seems kind of counter-intuitive that damaging the mating surface would improve sealing...

I talked to Rich at Motor City Speed. He said a tune would be around $450, but the big thing is that he won't be able to get me in for another couple weeks (everybody else wants their tune done before the WWDC too). Will EGR and AIR being completely deleted make the car run worse without a tune? i.e., if it's back together and untuned, will it be running well enough to get to the Dream Cruise?

it won't run at all? D: that's not good. how am I supposed to get the car to the tuner if it doesn't run because it doesn't have a tune?

Eh, I've always been kind of leery about mail-order tunes. I've definitely known about PCMforless for a long time, but I've always preferred the idea of taking care of that kind of stuff in person...
