Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
not sure. it wouldn't be hard to make your own too.
Don't really have the resources to to make my own stuff right now. I might know a welder, so I'll probably go that route.
For the intake manifold, would I be better off using engine enamel or should I get it powdercoated? If powdercoat, can anybody make any recommendations for powdercoating in the Farmington area?

So during shutdown this week, I decided to take on a bit of work on the car that I've been putting off. Replace lifters (have had a bad one for a long time), paint the intake manifold as long as it's off, clean air filters and MAF, delete EGR and AIR, and replace opti. So far...not so good. This car somehow keeps finding new ways to infuriate me every time I try to do anything to it. In about 10-11 hours working on it the last three days, all I've managed to accomplish is remove the CAI and elbow, throttle body, alternator, and driver's side valve cover. That's it. I haven't been able to remove the fuel rail because I can't get the fuel lines disconnected. I have the disconnect tool in the fitting, but I just can't get the damn things off, and I fear I might have broken the fuel rail from twisting and pulling on the fittings so much. Today I also managed to get my ratcheting end wrench jammed in between the bolt that I was removing and the EGR valve (which is on the back side of the intake manifold. I got one of the nuts off to remove the valve, but I couldn't find the other one back there (with half the engine under the cowl, it's literally like working blind). I couldn't get the nuts off the other EGR piping either because I can't get my arm back there enough to get any force on it without killing my bad shoulder. I also haven't been able to remove the IAC housing that goes on the bottom side of the throttle body because I can't get either of the hoses off. So yeah, it's been incredibly frustrating so far. Days like this make me wish I would never have bought this stupid car.

Hang in there! I've felt your pain, but eventually you'll make it and feel extremely satisfied when you're done. I've had the best luck with the plastic fuel line removal tools, but they can be frustrating. The real fun with the intake is putting it back on! Good luck!
Is there any trick to removing this kind of fuel line fittings?
As you can see, I have the little tools in there, but for the life of me I can't seem to get the suckers disconnected.

I have a custom over the axle true-dual setup with a Magnaflow 2.5" x-pipe. And I'm running 295's, not 315's.

It helps to push it onto the rail more, then push the removal tool in and wiggle it some.
I've tried that. I push the fitting onto the tool, and the tool goes in all the way and it clicks into place. But as soon as I try pulling the fitting off, the tool doesn't come off with it. It just stays in place.

Make sure you are using a 3/8 disconnect tool....push the line in towards the intake and slip the tool over the line, then push the tool towards the line and pull it off the rail side..

Pretty sure that's exactly what I've been trying. Without disconnecting the fuel rail, I finally got the intake manifold out today. Intake mani, throttle body, and valve covers are going to the powdercoater tomorrow.
EDIT: for 1500th post lol

Here's a peek at what I've done the last few days. Working by my apartment:
In process:
Finally got the intake manifold out. Note that I haven't been able to remove the fuel rail or the IAC sensor housing. Haven't gotten to O'Reilly to get metal disconnect tools either.
