So I'm running into a couple of issues with the wheel install. First, it's starting to look like I'll need to remove the axle shaft to remove the bad lug so I can replace it. Also, it's looking like I'm going to need to roll the fenders to make sure they don't hit my new tires. I'm looking for a fender roller in the area, but if I can't find one soon, I'm going to try it with a baseball bat.

Yes, you will need to remove the axel to get the TC ring off to then get the stud out. Complete waste of time. I had to do the same thing. Good luck getting the TC ring off, mine was a PITA but with a little heat and a maul it came right off.
If you need anything send me a PM.1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

Eastwood makes a fender roller for around $30. My car is lowered with 315s and I didn't roll my fenders.
Edit: $50

Really? I mean, I haven't had the car with the rims installed sitting on the ground yet to see just how much clearance I will have, but the way it is now it sure seems like going over a bad bump will cause rubbing. I have stock rear springs with heater hose mod.Originally posted by ryanwarby01 View PostMy car is lowered with 315s and I didn't roll my fenders.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been to busy actually working on the car haha. As you well know, I had to take apart the rear axle to change the bad lugs.

After a lot of annoyance, we finally got the rear axle out:

Figured as long as the diff cover is off, I might as well paint it:

Here's a peek of how I've been working:

And finally, the rims. Let me tell you, the rears were a HUGE pain in the arse. First of all, the center opening wasn't big enough to go around the hub decent. It's as though it was manufactured to the right clearance, but the addition of the paint made it so the rim wouldn't go on decent. I sure hope I don't have to remove them anytime soon, because they ain't coming off easy. At one point I took the lugs back off to try to take the wheel off, and I had to stand up and kick it really hard to get it off...and it wasn't even on all the way. I also had to mess with the adjustable panhard to make sure I had clearance for the 295s on both sides. I thought I had the rear centered, but apparently I didn't. But anyway, I eventually did get the rims installed and I washed up the car to get to Automotion in Wisconsin Dells today, so here are some pics from that:
First, I parked by a couple fellow F-bodies

changed location, again parking next to a fellow F-Body:

When I got home:

Wheels are C6 Z06 replicas from OEwheels LLC. 17x9.5 front, 18x10.5 rear. Wrapped in Nitto NT05 rubber. 275/40-17 front and 295/35-18 rear.

Thanks!Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostNew wheels make the car look so much better.
well I never had Z28 badges on the fenders...I probably won't bother with adding any either.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostInteresting that we are both rocking just a rear Z28 badge currently.
yeah, they're alright. The backup part isn't looking too hot, but they still look good from 20 feet away.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostGood to see that those tail lights are still holding up decent.

latest alteration: changing the front bowtie from red to silver. I bought the silver decal assuming it would just overlay the badge, but red would still be showing around the edges. So I had to resort to sanding all the red off:

Applied the decal:

Hate to say it but Joel's right. If you copy the image into paint and rotate it 180 degrees look how much better it looks.
Hopefully you can peel it off without ruining it.

honestly, if you look at the picture with the red sanded off, I think the entire badge is on upside down, not the decal. The guy at the body shop last year must have put it on wrong after he took it off the old bumper...
