Recently picked up a 1991 CR250 from a buddy of mine for $400. Bike was UGLY, nonrunning, and in need of some TLC. The guy is honestly an idiot. He was having all kinds of problems with the bike but after tearing into I seen all were very small mistakes on his part that lead to big problems when riding it.
Here is what I started with in Late Feb... Right off the bat you'll notice bent levers, horrible plastic, missing plastic, missing handgaurd, tore down top end, tore up seat cover, and just a lot more of maintenence like tearing out the suspension bushings, cleaning them up, and redoing them.

Loaded up in the truck for the ride home from Romeo.

Within 2 hours of having it home.

Frame sandblasted and powdercoated. I know gloss white will be a PITA to keep clean but it was the original color and honestly I kinda dig it.

Engine dropped back in. Still needed to replace top end and paint it up a bit but the frame wouldn't balance on the stand with no engine.

Suspension bearings getting heated out with the help of my old friend bud light.

Swingarm and rear shock back on after a quick rebuild. Done for free since my buddy bought the parts for it. Just never paid to have it done.

Subframe and airbox on. I sent the airbox through the dishwasher to get it clean inside.

Forks! We have forks!!! Didn't need a rebuild because buddy just had them rebuilt by Tech-Care and only rode once since.

Plastic starting to go on.

I know that black backgrounds with white numbers are for 125's/250 4stokes/lightweight class but I just think it looks better.
After the shakedown ride. I'll have to snap some pics after I get it power washed.

It ran great until I sunk it in a "puddle" which turned out to be 2ft deep. Drained the clutch fluid yesterday and it was like mud! About 10 minutes before that I ended up flying off the side of a hill and rolled like 30ft down a 60 degree hill. Took my buddy and I (both are like 160lbs soaking wet) nearly 20 minutes to drag it back up the hill.

All in all I'm super pumped. First non-Yamaha I've ever owned and I feel like shit because of it but I couldn't pass up the deal, small project, and the chance to get back on a bike again.
