I applaud you for fixing up the car and showing it some respect....Now you just gotta work on the motor
Motor is in the works (planning stage) Really depends on funds tho. Honestly I dont mind driving the 305 around tho. But thanks for the input and compliments, its still not as nice as the pictures show it off to be. She's a 3 footer looker thats for sure so keep that in mind at the M&G guys, and a picture whore

Yep thats the plan, now whose bright idea was it to charge so much $$ for these things??? I might try and run them without spacers since they are 17x8 Wheels

        • Thanks Jess I kinda get what you are trying to show there, but not totally. I cant really go wider on the rear because they are 17x8 wheels. But I think I can play with the spacing and get them tucked in more. Im going to try and bolt them up without the spacers and see what happens, I may need to buy some smaller spacers but those things are $$... Also I found a creative way to attempt to roll the rear fenders as well.

          • ah ok, well I thought I read over on TGO that you can get a 10 inch under the rear of a thirdgen.. let me look and see if I have the info.. I know these are 4th gen wheels and all, was just trying to give you the mental pics I had of what I was saying is all..

            here it is-

            the question-

will these wheels fit on the rear of my 83 z28 the wheels are15x10" 5x4.75 bolt pattern 5.5" backspace the back space was what i was wasnt sure of also will a 28X11.5 et street fit on them?

            the answer-
Stock is a 8" rim, with 4.75" BS, on the rear (based on the 16" rims).

With a 5.5" BS, and maybe .25" for the tire, your maxed out going inwards. so your looking at 4.25" outwards.

Based on a stock 16"x8", you are going 1.25" inwards, but have an extra 2", over stock. Which pushes .75" outwards from stock.

In other words, you'll be fine. But you should be a little inwards, with the rim not sticking out. A 11.5" tire should be about flush, depending on sidewall bulge. Might wanna watch rear end swat, on launches.

            • Yeah that's on a 10 inch wheel. I wish I had those, or the reason to have those I am thinking since the original wheels are 16x8 and these are 17x8 I "should" be able to move them further back into the wheel well, or just eliminate or use smaller adapters. I know what your saying and I would love to make it have a little more of an aggressive stance I don't think it looks horrid right now either tho. Except the little bottoming out I get on the expressway. If I could move them deeper in the wheel well I think I would be happier and that it would look better, right?

              • I was out playing with the rear wheels and I now know why you need spacers, I guess its hard to picture it over the internet and that is why I never fully understood it. I took the rear wheels off and removed one of the spacers and put the wheel back on, they do rub hence why you need spacers. However 2 inch spacers is a little extreme I can see where you say 1.5 Sean but I think a 1 inch spacer/adapter would work as well although not 100% sure. I guess its not worth buying 1.5 spacers to move them in a 1/2 inch. Not sure what I am going to do in the future but for now they sit as they sit, 275 tires may be another purchase for another time. I found some guys running 275 on a 17x8 wheels. However I was also fighting with the fender lip and found some un wanted rust in my wheel well so I was taking care of that as well.

Yeah no good but its not that bad, just a little surface rust scrapped it down and going to keep working on it in the wheel well donest seem horrid. But who knows with these cars. I'll sand it down then treat it and prime it and cover it with something.

                    POR15 FTW????

Make sure you use everything they have. Marine clean it first to degrease, then apply the Metal Ready as they state, rinse it with hot water, and make sure its dry, then paint on the POR-15. Don't pull a Brian and just skip the first two steps...

Haha that is what Brian did? Yeah I was reading on their site about the process and such and figured so many people like the stuff I might as well get some. I am sure it will be a weekend project, looks like next weekend it is. Man this list of mine is getting longer and longer.

Yeah, why do you think it's flaking off, haha...

Oh, and wear long sleeves, because if you get it on your skin, it doesn't come off for at least a week.

Oh haha I didnt know that was happening... But yeah I was reading the step by step process I will follow it as close as I can, the car has been undercoated before (previous owner) but looks like he didnt do the wheel wells. I guess it will be a project. Just the little stuff to try and make the car last longer, I am already unhappy with the rear wheel wells... long story.
