What I dont understand is everyone says you have to run 2inch Spacers for 4th gen wheels! WHY??!?!? There is tons of room back there and I dont see why I need 2 inch spacers to run these, maybe 1inch or even 1.5 but why 2? I think I might get some smaller spacers and experiment. No problem Jess I am liking whoring out my car now while it looks decent.

I agree Jess, they don't look right from that angle. Think you're on the right path Darren, try some different size spacers.

try them by themselves and see if you have rubbing.. I saw a car with TT2s on it and WOW not sure how wide they were but DAYUM they looked badass

Thanks, I dont. I didnt try before I put the spacers on but does 4th gens have the same bolt pattern and offset as a thirdgen? Will they bolt right up without the spacers or do the studs not line up?

Edit: Dont get me wrong I like the wheels a lot better then stock and got a killer deal (what I think to be one) on them with some good tread. I am very happy at this moment.


Now just some little work, beginning with those tail lights that got messed up in all this. I hope I can save them somehow or just night shade them, opinions?

Depends how wide of wheels you have. Forexample if you had 10" wide wheels you would need 2 spacers so you wouldn't rub the inner wheel well. So it really depennd on the style of wheel, width, backspacing.

As far as the spacers are concerned it depends on what the original offset of the wheels are. Your new ones are 8" wide so they may have a smaller 35-40mm offset and wouldn't require the large 2" spacers.

Thanks Craig so I should be able to use a smaller spacer or no spacer at all then... I may have to take these wheels off for like a 4th time!

actually darren most people i thought say run the 1.5 spacers ion the back... i think whats throwing you off is that the wheels and tires look really skinny. mine stick out the same distance as yours but just with a fatter tire looks more proportionate. what size are the tires?

The rear tire is 255 45 17, Sean. So you ran 1.5 spacers, yeah I think I need to get smaller ones now.

The reason they look odd is because they are too skinny to be that far out. FWIW...my 10"s (295's) stick out about the same distance but have to because if they were in any more I would have major wheel rub in the inner wheelhouse....but all that aside, the car looks great Darren! I applaud you for fixing up the car and showing it some respect....Now you just gotta work on the motor
