  • [Project] Project Celery Monster

Going to be completed over spring break (mostly), March 7-15 is my working time.
    1998 Formula M6
Current mods: SLP lid, SLP line lock, Pro 5.0 shortthrow, Ebay stainless headers, Pacesetter 3" Y, Hooker cat-back, cooling fan switch, TB coolant bypass, ported TB, Free ram air.
Future mods: stock 243 casting heads, El Toro cam, dual springs/Ti retainers, LS6 intake, LS2 timing set, Melling HP oil pump, EGR delete, new LS1 lifters, tubular bolt-in SFC's (going to weld in this summer), UMI shortstick, and poly motor/trans. mounts.

That's it for now, until I need a clutch and/or rear end. I will probably end up doing LCA's and torque arm sooner than later as well though. I would like a six-speed pattern shift knob that's a white ball though, I just can't justify spending $30 or more on a plastic ball...

Valve covers took approx. 10 hours to polish by hand, still need to paint accents and clear them. Cam package is being delivered to the home in White Lake (I'm up at school), waiting on my LS6 intake to get here as well as SFC's, and still need to get the heads picked up. Few more weeks

Yep I was looking on ebay, got outbid on one. I'll keep looking though, not like it's an essential part.

                Adding to the list:
                MSD 8.8mm wires
Plugs: Can't decide between TR55's (platinum) or TR5IX's (iridium). Iridiums last a lot longer but I definitely do not want problems with detonation if it's too hot. Platinums should last at least 15k miles anyways. Oh no, I'm going to have to change my plugs every three years!

More stuff came in today, tubular bolt-in sfc's and UMI shortstick. Thanks again Creight. Poor girl behind the desk was kinda struggling with my 30lb package.
They even sent me a sticker for another 50hp!

and thanks Tom, I'm really not sure how much time all of this will take me but I hope not long. And I hope that the snow's cleared before spring break, or during...

Just got my LS6 intake manifold in. Now I have to think of a way to adapt the PCV but it's hard seeing as I don't have the car here.

Is there any way to get around having to buy a $52 coolant crossover pipe for the intake manifold swap?

I broke the fins off the bottom of my LS6 intake. It only took about 10 min using a chisel and hammer.

If you don't drive in cold weather you could plug the throttle body. the coolant hose, I think you could use an lt1 hose which is about 20-25 bucks new. we did bypass on B's car, I know his is LT1 but same concept on ls1.
Autoparts store sells a little group of assorted plugs that will slip right over nipples
