Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

There's a small recessed area under the rear pass. side seat where I mounted mine. Anywhere else seems to give a clearance issue. I've got my cutout Y welded to the cat back and another pipe welded to it, which is clamped with an adapter to the Y pipe. I'll post a pic in a bit.
Pics would be great! No rush, I won't be tackling this project until next week anyways, I have a bunch of other stuff to do before I'm ready for this one.
I was planning on mounting it in the recess at the passenger seat, was just curious as to how I should install it.
This is the welding "mask" that I had to use. DSC00940..JPG
Welds are pretty nasty. DSC00938..JPG DSC00939..JPG
Painted, added two exhaust clamps in hopes of sealing it better. Wire is routed under the car up to the shifter area. Pretty close to the driveshaft but just out of the way. I still need to find a better way to secure that wire to the floorboard. DSC00941..JPG
You know Nick. The last time I was at the junkyard your camaro still had the tops on it. Why not buy the roof off that car?
Definitely an idea, but I know they leaked when they were in the Camaro, I'd probably need new seals and weatherstrips as well. . . I'll have to see what he wants for them when I get back.
That'd be kinda cool having a piece of the old car on the new one.
The "new" car actually has a TON of pieces of the old car in it. . . Seats, speakers, tires, Sirius tuner, and a couple of other things I can't think of. . . lol
Started working on the car a little bit today, basically just got the battery charged up and took it out for a little while. I think I'm going to go out again in a little while. I'll probably start working on pulling the manifolds once I get the brakes fixed on the truck, hopefully have some progress pics up by Tuesday. I might just take a little time tomorrow to clean it up some, I have a claybar laying around here somewhere.
Should have the tires switched over and the new rims on the car this week. Hoping to have the headers on by the end of the week, as well as a couple of other "goodies", and I should be ready to cruise Woodward by the weekend, weather permitting, of course.
congratz on getting home safely Nick, and good luck on your progress..

Thanks. I will be keeping this thread updated as I get more work done, but I will be starting to look for a job this week as well, so my estimated progress by the weekend may be a little. . . optimistic.
