I'd never run an aftermarket converter without a trans cooler. The stock one doesn't do much if anything. Jess is right though anyone will work but I'd go bigger.Originally posted by Gottork View PostDoing less with more

When I had an automatic behind my LT1, I ran the factory cooler in the radiator and an external one mounted right above the air dam. B&M IIRC. If you put in a converter, you do a cooler. Slippage causes heat. Eric L

Yup, if you change the stall you need to change the cooler (add an external one) to help offset to additional heat the higher stall will generate. I have the B&M SuperCooler.- Brian Meissen

I had this one. I mounted it to 2 of the air dam bolts right where the air flows up under the bumper. There is a little space down there to route the hoses to it from the radiator. I didnt want to mount it to the radiator because of heat sink. If you drive the car in the winter I would mount it to the raidator and run both stock and aftermarket coolers just to keep the fluid from gelling. Eric L
