  • Okay so I have a dilemma my buddy at the shop could not find a performance double roller timing chain for a 94 lt1 because they are different from the later year lt1's. I have been busy so I haven't been able to look it up but I know I've found one before. Could anyone chime in on a good chain?

Also he told me to go ahead and find an oil pan that can clear a stroker crank and rods that also has the oil pump and pickup designed for the pan. Again I haven't had a chance to look anything up yet I just figured I might post up here to see if my mifbody friends might have some good products they recommend?

    Thanks again!

    • Double rollers arent necessary, im going to have to take mine off to do the 24x conversion...single roller is fine.

Even with the big cam, 3.75 crank, and 6inch rods its not gonna be weak? I mean I trust you I just thought I've heard the single roller is weak with a 383 stroker.

edit: and I guess It will be wasted money anyways because I plan on doing the PCM swap once I build my trans cause I need to change out electrical in the trans to work with the ls1 PCM.

          • So i was looking deeper into timing chains the only way to run a billet chain is to upgrade to a vented opti and 95-97 timing cover. So ill need to buy a new opti, cover, and gear/chain. Man i had just bought a new nonvented opti and a new timing chain 2k miles before the motor went.
