You don't need a 58mm for a N/A.
There is a point of restriction but also a point where restriction is good to create velocity.
A 383 at 100% VE and 8000rpm consumes 886cfm.
http://gmtuners.com/flow/
As you can see a stock LT1 TB is calculated at 783cfm.
A Twin 52mm would be perfect.
It will flow enough air but also create velocity which will help the engine consume.

Having heads that are so open they flow 400cfm doesn't mean crap if there isn't velocity in them.

For the restocking fee, this is where research comes in before buying parts. Sorry had to be said, not trying to be a dick.
Just pop in for a question and you'll get your answer.

well its to late now im always messing stuff up. I would have to pay a 15% restocking fee on t/b also. Idk what to do i just did what my guy said and i didnt think i would have to go this in to research o my intake and t/b :/. Im just going to return the intake and t/b and use the stock stuff.

• Put it up on Tech and see if someone will buy them. Or Craigslist.

Just because someone builds 1000s of engines doesn't mean they are building the best.
Don't get me wrong, everything would work, but it just wouldn't work as good as it could be.

I will probably just find a stock intake or use my old one its over ported a little between the intake ports, and use my stock throttle body with a air foil.

• What do you mean over ported?
I wouldn't be worried only if there is literally a hole in the walls.
The intake is a dry intake.

No the intake just has just a little to much material gone between intake ports it doesnt line up with gasket. The guy i have porting my heads said to replace it

• Eh yeah then I would probably get a used one.
Don't want to risk blowing the gasket out and letting in unmetered/filtered air.

• Do you mean the gasket is in the port? Like the gasket is now smaller than the ports?

• Sounds to me like the intake gasket and head ports are smaller in Diameter than the intake ports, meaning intake port volume is more and would probaby create turbulance as the air passes through the smaller gasket. Doesnt sound advantageous at all to me, you want those things matched.

• I was able to get a full refund on that intake besides paying $18 shipping! I'm happy. And I don't think I'll have a problem selling that 58mm t/b. Also curious what Darren can get me on a price for the intake he has powder coated purple?

Like I said run a stock intake and if you want a bigger TB just get a 52mm.

• Not to hijack the thread...

But there is the Bearing Burners Car show and Huge Swap Meet in Warren on SUnday - You may be able to pick up the entire top injection system for an LT1 for cheap, and other stock parts needed.
THey also have booths there if you wanted to try to trade or sell your stuff.

Better than loosing big coin anyway.

I will probably just run stock intake and my stock throttle body with a plenum, my stock t/b is really clean and smooth so I don't think I'll spend the money on a 52mm right now maybe in a few months after its running
