well the first two rebuilds were done by someone that was recommended on here and both times failed within 1000 miles, without being hard on them whatsoever. lesson learned. then i bought a performabuilt trans that failed, they warrantied it but soon after, a snapring in the 2-4 clutchpack failed and they wouldnt warranty that. i basically pulled the 2-4 clutchpack out of the other failed rebuild and stuffed it in the performabuilt trans thinking im good, not the case obviously. the car does move and drive pretty good if manually shifting from 1st to 3rd, but od it kicks out and even sometimes in the lower gears if im accelerating itll pop out of gear

dustin (alwaysmessedup) could probably explain a lil better. maybe he will get a chance to chime in

        • Did TJ leave the line pressure @ 100%? if so you'll want to have that adjusted after you get the trans sorted out.

            • I know it sucks Mike but you just need to step back for a few days. Next weekend get under there and yank out the trans. Depending on how the fluid looks it would be a good idea to get the converter cut and cleaned.

              • well i called performabuilt today, the company that built my trans and asked about my trans. after describing what its doing, the guy assured me it is the input sprag. so this weekend ill be dropping the tranny yet again and tearing into it. im sure i missed this when i had it apart the last time. i repaired what was obvious and didnt look further. so im paying for it now. anyways this weekend its coming out and hopefully going right back in

                        • That sucks Mike.

We put a trans in my buddys Diesel and a week later it started leaking from in between the bell housing and the motor. We took the trans out and replaced the front pump seal and torque converter seal and had it back in all in 7 hours! You can do it!

                          • friday night i pulled the tranny with my 12 yr old son. took us about 2.5 hrs. buddy dropped off a trans stand early saturday morning and by 1pm dustin (alwaysmessedup) and myself were disassembling the trans. come to find that yes the input sprag was the culprit as it was literally falling to pieces. there was also another piece that hadnt failed yet but you could see it started twisting. by 9:30 we had the tranny back together and in the car and taking it for a test drive. i had bought a bunch of parts i knew we needed but luckily i have another one for parts cause we had to use some out of it. anyways the car is running great and now shifting great. cant wait to put some miles on it, not to mention new tires and full coverage insurance
