    • I think the quickest and easiest will be just to put the other body parts upstairs, even if we end up doing a little rearranging up there.

And yes, the car was baked, but they said that even though the paint is dry, it will still take up to three months to fully cure. The longer we wait to put trim back on, the better.

        • Yes, that's Doug's car as it was before he tore it apart to redo it and make it more of a show car. It'll be cool to see him in it and on the road again since it was his first Camaro!

Thanks, Ben! That's the old girl, back in the day.

Wade, I think, with any luck at all, she will see the street again this year.

Here's another interesting tid-bit for you guys. It speaks to my "fanatisism", I guess. I just sent in a check to the Sec. of State to renew the plates on all the cars and motorcycles, including the plate for the '74 Z. I have had "MY Z" as a personalized plate for that car since 1976, and heve kept the plate current every year, even though the car has been off the road for 20 over years!

            I know, I'm a sicko!

              • How does renewing the plate work on a car that's not on the road or insured? Do you insure it just to get plates renewed then cancel or what? That's a lot of money for a license plate on a car that hasn't seen the road in that long! I'm suprised you didn't transfer it to one of your other cars.

I believe the car has always had storage insurance on it.

That's right, always had storage insurance, and my insurance always gave me a proof of insurance to keep the plate going.

                    • Wow storage insurance and plates on a car that's sat for 20 years! Imagine the money you spent! Unless you get dirt cheap storage insurance, mine is like $130 for 6 months!

ditto that. Wade you need to check on different insurance!

                          • I DID change insurance...and it was the same price as with Allstate as it was with Progressive. They just put Comprehensive on it. Years ago when I used to be with Allstate it was real cheap for storage insurance. Now it has gone up tremendously. I'm not sure why either.

                              • I've had State Farm for years on everything but the Hot Rod. Storage Insurance has run about $25 a year. (I have Grundy Worldwide on the Hot Rod, agreed vallue set at original sticker price, $700 per year)

I'll probably go with Grundy for the "74 once it's back on the road.
